Star Birth Region

Figure 8 : A region where new stars and planets are forming. This huge cloud of gas and dust is several hundred times the size of the solar system and is being slowly evaporated by intense light from nearby stars, exposing condensations within which new stars and planets are forming. The region is part of the Eagle Nebula and the image is from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.
