Back in October, I tried making ferrofluid but I kept failing and I ended up giving up for a while. Months later though, I got inspired, and I spent an insane amount of time researching ferrofluid and trying to make it. It was a very messy and sometimes frustrating process, but I was eventually successful. The method that I came up with still isn't perfect, but as far as I know, it's the best and most functional method available on the internet. I just watched 36 minutes of chemistry without looking at the clock.
teaching like this isn't something teachers get paid enough for. It requires an extreme dedication and days of research.
@Asher Pfanku absolutely but I’m of the other side that recorded lectures and in-depth analysis is how you get people to learn and to develop themselves instead of forcing the basics and having no relatability or physical reaction. I believe teachers SHOULD be paid for this or atleast use videos like this to help explain their lessons. Completely impractical currently but moving forward that’s my ideal
@Mr.Potato gotta make a petition for Nile to be the International Chemistry Teacher. We'd all be really smart without getting painfully bored.
Maybe it’s just because of the nice narration and your watching this on your own device instead of shitty school speakers
me 2
If you ever become a crazy arch villain, we’d all be screwed. Nobody could do anything as you would release a video fully explaining everything you did to take over the world, including every mistake anyone did in trying to stop you, and how you circumvented those attempts.
Stay on the good side, you are absolutely brilliant.
@jay quickblade exactly.
@Arctic Fox affirmative
Bruh if micheal reeves and him were both super villains at the same time our only hope would be them fighting each other.
Codyslab would become the protagonist nilered being antagonist nilered has more antagonistic qualities in my opinion
Is it possible to get him and styropyro to team up for this conquest?

What I've learned on this channel: dont underestimate distilled water and coffee filters
Edit: thx for all the likes :)
I agreee, I once even heated up the water and added som some coffee powder to the filter, the result was amazing ;)
@Jonas Lundgren ya that is pretty complex chemistry 😂😂😂 made simple with distilled water
And drain cleaner, he uses it so much more often than I'd expect haha
and amazon 😒

“y’know sPoOnS?”
Where is this, timestamp
@Tristen Arctician it's in his can you smell metal video at the end
27:30 "Strongly attracted to itself and strongly repelled the rod" .... Sounds like my Ex
Sorry your rod doesn't attract 😢
This made me fall onto my floor laughing and I don't know why.
@JustAKid Icarus no you didn't
@Leonardo Leite How would you know?
And If you say you were watching me I am going to track you down and deal with you myself. No witnesses.
Damn man/woman. Savage.
dude that second failed ferrofluid was a ferrosauce. when you took the magnet away it looked like soy paste or something

@hpekristiansen my guess is they also stretch it out by using some form of filler. My guess is DiStiLLeD wAtEr
@Andaaz S. Bawa fuck sports games. If I wanna do any other sports, I'll get outside. I play games mostly for the story and or action.
Do u mean this in a good or bad way?

Hah the future is now
Hah, the future- it’s now.
Ferrofluid manufacturers watching this video: WRITE THAT DOWN, WROTE THAT DOWN
Me : Oh cool! I can create some myself!
Also me after 2 minutes: Nope...
whats the matter? You can get everything online for about 30 bucks total
This is the middle school nerd that actually did well later in life
Most middle school nerd. Kids do well. Having a lot of interest in a subject at a young age means that you will enjoy doing that.
Einstein was a jerk first then got that smart
I'm doing well being a game dev thank you
@Adarsh Venkateswaran who enjoys anything at school? One must be quite simple minded to enjoy that. I mean seriously.
@Hasi Mausi i mean, if someone has an interest and their class covers that interest they would probably like that. and they also werent specifically talking about finding their passions in school either i believe.

When Nile teaches me more than my science teacher ever will
It’s not the information, it’s the delivery of the information that’s important.
Everything can be fixed with
Distilled water
I agree with you
@Darcey Darcey distilled water also doesn’t conduct because it has no minerals
@Nate Davis yeeeeeee
@Nicolae Daniel Andreiu you must be great at parties
I got hurt.
U u u u distilled water fixes everything
do you think his well paying chemistry job pays for him being able to do expensive chemistry in his free time? imagine doing chemistry in your free time. i respect that
This is his job - he quit school to become a full-time Youtuber. It's NurdRage who has the chemistry job outside his Youtube channel.
Some people really like chemistry ;)
You don't know that youtube earns money?
This is genuinely impressive Considering How little information there is on how to make this stuff and you still made it and made it better
37:17 as an artist that really shocked me
EDIT: can you sell me this stuff? as a toy, art, etc?
31:00 cute pet comes here
How is it cute pet? I dont see a pet

Gosh, this comment section is my people, more sience nerds, and memers. This rocks!
Giorno Giovana well reduction is adding electrons, so of course, what’s your point? Your trying to be a smart ass, but just stating the obvious...

The ultimate way to punish nile: take his distilled water from him
😮
While watching his videos I feel smart from learning at the same time as I feel dumb for not understanding most of the words he uses
My favorite part of all of these videos is “I needed a bunch of *insert caustic/toxic/corrosive/generally dangerous chemical here* so I went and bought it in bulk on Amazon”. Like, I just love our modern world.
What a time to be alive
All "caustic/toxic/corrosive/etc" chemicals are manufactured from ordinary, easy to get chemicals. With very few exceptions, the only difference is how many steps between the "OTC" chems and the ones you can't buy. The only exceptions are elemental oddities. But the vast majority of chemicals are just combinations of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. That's why the war on drugs is ultimately futile, no matter how many drugs/precursors they ban (there are a TON) usually, it isn't terribly difficult to just obtain the precursors to the banned precursors, and then make it yourself.

@ahmed4363 You saw the vid too?
I am messed up with my homework.
Wait...that can be fixed with distilled water.
Nah, as Doug's Lab showed, you need tetrachloroethylene to fix homework. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AguwaDKb2ns

Ur probably corious how did i get here..
"The preparations were exactly the same, so I'm not sure why there would be such a difference."
Welcome to the world of nanochemistry, where sometimes the synthesis fails just because you looked at it wrongly.
Ahh yes quantum state science but not quantum(I think its quantum state, it's like 4 am and I dont have a degree)
You might be able to increase the speed of the stirring part if you put a plate with a couple holes in the top of it that let you run the mixing rod into it, one for your dropper, and another one to let a stream of nitrogen, or some other inert gas into it, which would reduce oxidation.
@Greaser physics looks away in panic
I know this comment is from a long time ago, but I've heard about this in nanochemistry a lot where it just fails for no discernable reason.
I've always wondered if it's simply a factor of air pressure during certain stages of the chemical process as it is applying different levels of force which may have an impact on how the nano particles form.
I live at high altitude so I have to cook sightly differently for recipes. So, with nanochemistry I could see how it could have an exaggerated effect as you're dealing with particles that have different states of fragility at certain times.
Are you able to share any thoughts on this or am I just totally wrong?
@Jacob Frederick I know nothing of chemistry so take this with a heaping bag of salt, but I can see that being one factor among many. There's so many variables in every given situation it's incredibly difficult to figure them all out let alone control them
“And that the length of it didn’t kill you”
That’s what she said
How the hell did the first person ever to make this stuff figure this out

@Patricio Lemus Once you get there, come back and let us know how you like it then. I'll give a fair warning, it gets very confusing, very quickly. Ex: Take sodium (explosive metal [Na]) + chlorine (deadly gas [Cl]) = Table salt (Sodium Chloride [NaCl]). Yee be warned...
