But forward 25 years into in the midst of a nationwide purge on the nation’s nightlife, where nearly half of all British clubs have shut down in the last decade, and a new kind of scene has emerged. I'm 37 now and I haven't been to a proper underground rave since 2004, but those nights still remain my most wonderful and special memories. Two raves in particular really stand out "first two nights I tried MDMA and back when it was pure in 1999" The tracks that were played still stir up emotions I don't get from nothing else. It was all about love and feeling connected to everyone. The atmosphere was perfect, nobody took too much, everyone looked out for reach other, making sure you didn't get too hot or drink too much water, just perfect all around. I wouldn't trade those nights for anything!

I know what you mean bro. I'm 39 and my first rave was in 94. It was my freshman year of high school. I have gone to dozens of underground raves in warehouses to the middle of the woods even underground in the city. I remember real MDMA from the mid 90's bro. Good times. ✌️✌️

I was fortunate to attend several raves in the early 90s before leaving the UK for America. Never once did I do drugs at them (although some did) and I never saw a fight break out. On the flipside, I was let into pubs and served alcohol at 13 years old, and people turned a blind eye. I never understood the stigma about raves. I'm now in my early 40s and astounded to learn the cops are still shutting these events down. Let the youth have some unforgettable moments in their life before they grow up to hand over large sums of their money to the government in taxes. At least an abandoned warehouse is being used for something other than collecting dust. The older I get, the more I shake my head at these fucking politicians.

Raving in london mid late 90s was .... a dream. Very little incidents, organisers were lovely , ravers looked after each other and we never felt unsafe.
Such fun times, people genuinely wanted to dance and have fun, just and only that.

@mraso30 I was the same. Was using heroin as a teen and was an IV addict since 18 just snorted before that. Idk if you're involved with NA but 2.5-3 years is still considered early recovery. I don't say this to criticize you I'm actually very happy for you and only say to warn against getting complacency. Complacency claims most relapses. I truly believe the saying that it's easy to get clean it's harder to stay clean. I thought it was BS at first especially how much of a pussy i am at being sick I absolutely can barely handle it but after experiencing it all now and sadly relapsing after 3 months once then 9 months and even after a year clean. You feel horrible instantly or at least i did and you almost go into a trance when you relapsed and right after you use you snap back into perspective and you're just like "wtf did i just do?" But I wish all the luck to you hope you're still on the right path and I highly recommend NA if you don't already. It May be slow at first but just explore and you'll find meetings and people you're comfortable with and eventually a great sponsor to confide it even if they aren't your first. After the first run through of the steps you'll have so much lifted and actually get to know yourself and get all the wait you acquired during addiction gets lifted. Then the biggest honor is being able to pass that on to others and get a sponsee(s) of your own. Be safe, best of luck and much love. Just keep up the work and don't get complacent.

People need to get over the idea that if something is bad or dangerous, it should be banned. The only effect this generally has is forcing it underground, which just make it even more dangerous and allows the industry to be taken over by unscrupulous criminals. This is one of the big reasons why Amsterdam doesn't have a weed problem.

I was 15 when the rave culture hit the first time round.....ahhh the happy years that followed. Then the scene got commercialised but the tunes were amazing in the clubs, which were still good back then. It made me happy on this vid to see young free spirits going out into nature, round a fire, doing whatever recreational ;);) and dancing in the tent. No bother.... how youth should be. Now older and wiser...I feel that theres something very shamanic about rave culture. We had our own summers of love in the 90s and 00s and this cynical world needs it again....rave on peeps 🙌✌😷

Break-in's were the norm for the rave scene in the 90's. I participated in quite a few of them. It's very cool to see it return and very cool to see a new generation of kids digging it.

The girls from Liverpool said it best. The reason raves are coming back is because clubs now are all stuck up, people get too drunk and rowdy and no one lets them selves go, they stand awkwardly and take Snapchat's. Raves are actually fun, like clubs should be.
