Well we could just upload our consciousness, it'll be much faster than biology advancements. If we survive singularity in coming years and download it in body, in future just likee how we change our phones every 6 months; until we achieve immortality.

“Everyone wants to become old, but nobody wants to be old”

PiXeLGeneral - 2020-04-05

Yeah, I don't really want to live to be old. I would just spend 10 last years of my life in medication, pain, difficulties and then finally in a vegetative state... Why would I want that? I don't fear death. I don't want to live long just because trying to delay the inevitable.

@You Know Who yes exactly! But Tardigrades are the only ones that hardly dies. They can even resist in space and in high temperatures conditions..

Travis Simons - 2020-03-17

We should "tadigratizate" our DNA to make us immortals!

uwau - 2020-03-29

@Travis Simons they aren't immortal, and still get wasted. But ~400 years of an extremophilic life is sure exciting. I still want actual balls to the wall immortality though.

Travis Simons - 2020-03-29

@uwau Nope. I worked in One of the best DNA research Intitute in Japan named "Kihara Institute for Biological Research" and there was some proven studies and academy researchers that made a long work with specialists where they proved that the Tardigrades are biologically immortal. They die only if they are crushed by something or attacked with strong acid. The telomeres of the tardigrades never degenerate, so it means they never get old and their cells are constantly being replaced by young cells. The organisms have origin for millions years ago and develop a very advanced metabolism. Nothing similar as the humans.

uwau - 2020-03-29

@Travis Simons yes, and I did learn about the no telomere degeneration about them from you today, but forgive me for this.. still not immortal. But, as you said, biologically so. Good enough for me. Tardigrades are like the Aliens that ripley fought with but more dangerous.

A Frustrated Gamer - 2020-03-17

Short answer: Yes.

Aging is the most depressing part of our existence... especially when you haven't done anything with your life after 23 years.

and you're still a virgin...

uwau - 2020-03-29

@Elias Ghaleb suffer

Farhan Ali - 2020-04-02

A Frustrated Gamer Then do something about it? I know it’s easier said than done. Prioritize what you want ? When you want.
Regarding the virgin comment- lot of people lose it in late 20’s as well some in 30’s.
Don’t worry. Just have an open mind and try to meet people. Yes you will be judged, you will not be desirable by some, but someone will like you and with that you will have someone who will support you.
See what you are good at. Your life is only worth it and only makes sense if you make it to be. It could be the tiniest thing you do.
Good luck!

Wondering Owl - 2020-04-03

Granted, now you can do nothing with your life and be a virgin but forever

milo lee - 2020-04-03

꧁Mike Sully꧂ Ima be real here. It would actually be terrifying to live for the rest of eternity. That would give you the chance to experience a side of Mother Nature or something far worst you wouldn’t want to experience. Everyone else around you will be gone, and it would just suck to live forever.

Nazi Reichtangle - 2020-04-06

This life it's a TEST. You will need to choose from the 2 doors in this short life! The big open door where a lot people are going, and the crooked door, where only a few are going. The big open door is HELL where you gonna suffer forever and the crooked door is the heaven where people are living forever. But also the end is near!

There are diseases, wars and the people are bad = THE END IS NEAR!

@ThePainkillerDemon imho being immortal is fun. You say "But what about the universe", "but what about the others", well you grow out of that emo phase, seeking death. Not being capable of dying or aging does wonders. All it takes is a few billion years of suffering before you start appreciating it

O. B. - 2019-10-20

We should be able to live forever and choose when we die.

Mladen Djordjevic - 2020-03-20

@Sami Nahas how you can tell that? Based on science? Science as it develops it proves inteligent design in micro and macro world.

Sami Nahas - 2020-03-20

@Mladen Djordjevic Because of existence of evil in this world .Evil here could mean amything ranging from poverty to terrorism. It is either one of two : 1 - "god is there bit does not intervene and is just watching which makes him/her an evil diety not worthy of worship. 2- "god" does not exist and everything happens and runs by itself.
The second one makes more sense to any logical person.

Mladen Djordjevic - 2020-03-21

@Sami Nahas there is another option bro, maybe God allows evil because of our free will? Maybe because we choosed evil and decided to we as humans set moral law. God just don't want to break anyones character,he won't force anyone into choosing Him and His path, thats real concept of free will.Lastly,God will interevene when there isn't a single undecided human in world.

Sami Nahas - 2020-03-21

@Mladen Djordjevic with all due respect, Christian have been waiting for more than 1970 years for the return of christ . Muslims have been waiting 1300 years for thr appearance of mahdi. It's all the same sequenece with different names. We will conquer another planet in the next 200 hundred years while these people are still waiting for saviors. The galaxy is so big , and it is not about us humans . the galaxy does not revolve around us. The earth is just ons planet while there are more than one thousand stars and planets. The universe is even bigger than this god some people worship.

Mladen Djordjevic - 2020-03-21

@Sami Nahas such a perfect system where everything is so perfectly balanced can't be coincidance. In nature everything tends to chaos rather than complexity. There are two options...either there is dead matter, which somehow created life, made all complex thing in our univers such as perfectly balanced physical laws or there is a higher Being which made everything with a purpose. Both of them are religious concepts.

David Dai - 2020-02-09

Miguel de Lima - 2019-11-30

@spindash64 Greek myth was awesome. If I had to pick one religious world to live in it would definitely be my first choice. If I found out Christianity or the Islamism were true, I'd probably nuke myself on the spot, if possible taking all of Earth with me.

spindash64 - 2019-11-30

Miguel de Lima

Ah yes, because an all loving god is so much more hideous than a bunch of sociopathic immortal manchildren that make POTUS look like Mr Fucking Rogers. Literally the best of the bunch was the literally ruler of the LAND OF THE DEAD, probably because he actually had to see what sort of hell the other gods put humanity thru.

If I were trapped there, you know what, fuck the kamikaze, I’d find a way to remake reality in my own image, because there’s no way it could turn out worse than the one I was in

Miguel de Lima - 2019-11-30

@spindash64 Because a single figure of absolute power who can remake reality to his will, and who is undeniably not all-loving, is not someone I can trust very much. A council of dozens of gods means a much more balanced world.

I'd rather live a 80, 100 or 200 years and have most of my life spent with optimal health than to be immortal or live 900 or 1000 yrs and only live 10 or 20 years in my prime and the rest in declining health.

Rycon Roleplays - 2017-10-21

Forever sounds good to me, the universe is a big place and there is always a new story to tell

89 Alpha - 2020-02-08

@Squishy Fishie By then one would be smart enough to avoid that in whatever way possible

O 99 - 2020-03-23

@Brandt Fees death is not really an experience; It's like sleeping without having dreams.

uwau - 2020-03-29

@I C Yeah I want total immortality. I know for a fact that, given an "infinite" amount of time, no matter what, an additional universe will be formed. You will probably be stranded on a strange planet then, or a star, but you'll get off. You always will. You outlive anything and everything. I can handle nothingness, as even right now, we can willingly shut down our brains till we receive external stimuli (sleeping, it's a complicated process, and more). Being completely immortal just means you can play with reality.

Almir Zeqiri - 2020-04-09

@Squishy Fishie Yes,but maybe until then we could do something to stop the sun from doing that or move Earth to another sustainable sun or maybe move to another planet where we can thrive, I agree with you that we would get roasted by the sun but that would be the case if we don't do anything , but if we advance enough , we could thrive beyond the stars...(wise words) laughs in science
Peace ✌✌✌

Almir Zeqiri - 2020-04-09

@bamischijfje123 yeah right, but what if we could store some of our memories into AI machines , so we had place for something else... And that's also the reason we forget things right, otherwise we could remember everything right???

Recently turned 20. Aging really fucking sucks. I would love to go back to being a kid tbh. I liked my teenage years too, but I enjoy my kid years more. Because everything feels new and fresh to you then. When you’re a teen, you go through puberty and shit, which is a lot for a kid to go through at a young age. When you’re a kid, you’re not worrying about SHIT.

TON hARTS - 2020-03-09

I remember the movie “The curious case of Benjamin Button” lol

Color Wave - 2019-12-03

The music expressed how depressing the process of aging is. Everything ages, even cars.

Manly Tears - 2020-03-22

Imagine the previous generation finally admitting "Damn, I wish I was young" after this becomes a common thing.

ROCKIN RAGE GAMING - 2019-05-29

Im 100% on board with living as long as I can

cwlgroot - 2020-04-06

O 99 imagine the sun finally reaches its final phase and sucks up the earth. You survived and lived through, now you’re just someone floating space. Honestly, that gives me shivers down my spine each time I think about it. I wouldn’t want to experience that.

O 99 - 2020-04-06

@WashingtonWebFoot logic? Critical thinking? You are joking right? Not sure if you even know what biological immortality is.

O 99 - 2020-04-06

@cwlgroot You probably will be dead long before then. Also if religions and idiøts/terrorists somehow disappear, there's a big change we will be able to live this solar system before the temperature rises too much.

WashingtonWebFoot - 2020-04-06

@O 99 Most of the people on here are not talking about "biological" immortality. Most are talking about true immortality i.e. literally living forever.

O 99 - 2020-04-06

@WashingtonWebFoot no, most people are talking about biological immortality. And that's what this video is about. There's no such thing as a real immortality. Your airplane crashes, it's over.

Andrew Tiono - 2020-02-03

5:50 basically everyone has their great grandparents and a few more eras of them ahead. Families will be mostly old people now

Lautaro Dominguez - 2020-02-16

The Good Place deals with this in the last season. Amazing.

Darius Carlos - 2020-02-03

I honestly just want to be young and look young until I die of “old age”

Isaac Mueller - 2020-03-29

Scythe is a pretty good book where they go over the philosophy of immortality.

iToxSin - 2020-04-05
