Can you major just in fluid dynamics? Like not as a part of engineering or physics?
Say you were to put a thin torus (with diameter of the opening and made of a light solid material) right at the opening of the vortex generator, do you think it would get taken up by the vortex, and propelled forward ?
If there's one fact I'm retaining from this video

Today I had my final analytical dynamics exam and walked away thinking, yay no more physics!

But either the book is written in such a poor way that nailing my fingers seems better or the teacher is so, I don't have a word for it, boring is not quite right, whatever for the class also not quite right, I think the best way to describe it is antiwonder
You need to know that, I will ask that later and you need to answer, they make you feel like that's why you study...
gabriel giovani I get what you mean, I studied graphic design in uni and even though I'm still very much in love with the prospect of having a career related to it, my school kind of killed my thirsty creativity. That's why I try to keep another hobbies that's not related to art.

@andymcl92 I don't think there should be any shockwaves. Nothing is moving fast enough. (I don't know of any cases where shockwaves form without a supersonic/subsonic transition. (Though I'm not a fluid dynamicist, so...).)
So, yeah, further reason to believe it was from the food coloring or something else.

@Chris Sloan the whole effect is being created by a shockwave, but yeah l would find it surprising that it was powerful enough to create the air bubbles.
@Matt TheChosen There are clearly boundaries and pressure differences and such, but as I understand what a shock wave is, there wouldn't be one in a subsonic vortex. If you believe that I'm wrong, I'd love to see a reference so I could read more.

exactly, that is what first came to my mind, and then when I saw their execution (in beginning exceptionally) I was disappointed. Because they put in work, they don't deserve thumbs down, but no thumbs up.
@Boris Manojlovic I don't see the need for a sort of backhanded compliment. It's two videos, whose conclusions and aims are very different - even if they are both about dyed vortices in water

@pvic They could explore what could/would happen in the "real world" with their superpower; like how/if Flash could create vortices by moving his arms, or how superspeed would affect their mass, momentum, temperature, etc. - in the style of "Because Science"

@Ameha K Yeah, but if he's cosplaying Marvel's Thor... or they're cosplaying DC characters... Youtube is finicky about that. You might see 10k videos with stolen music and footage up for years, and you upload one thing that remotely refers to their IP and gets caught by the algorithm and you get a strike... within minutes...
