I was invited by Hamilton Morris to Spain in order to help him synthesize novel psychedelic compounds containing the element tellurium. You can find Hamilton Morris on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/@UCGlVsq-AUeSQ1CgOx2XvIRQ His Patreon can be found here: www.patreon.com/c/HamiltonMorris During our synthesis adventures I decided to interview him about this project, how it came about and what challenges it entails. 00:00:00 Intro & What Is This Video About 00:01:13 Why Tellurium Matters And What This Is About 00:06:37 First Impressions – The Allure of Rare Elements 00:13:02 Why Tellurium is Special (and a Bit Extreme) 00:19:26 Psychedelics, Parallels & Surprising Connections 00:26:01 Risks & Responsible Use – Lessons Learned 00:32:00 The Wild World of Impurities Explained 00:39:14 Real-World Challenges in Chemistry Labs 00:44:51 Stories From the Lab – Experiments and Insights 00:51:15 Hands-On Chemistry – What We Discovered 00:57:35 Wrapping Up the Big Ideas 01:02:44 Thank You & Final Thoughts
I have no idea what they’re talking about in the video or In the comments but everyone’s enthusiasm gives me great joy.
Well I am glad you enjoyed even though it was hard to understand!
Me too and it's because the sound is so ASSSSS
the intro feels like a hostage video
Wait what? You are the first person to tell me that :D
To you alone is who it feels like that to.
@thekeysman6760nah me too
@thekeysman6760 nah, i agree
@thekeysman6760nah, I also agree w/ @penguiin12 🐧🤷♂️
Side note- I say penguiin12's name as penGWEEEN 💀💀💀
Hamilton looks like a Victorian era vampire disguising himself in todays world
Haha
Disguising might be too strong a word. In all fairness, if I was gonna get attacked by a vampire I'd be happy if it was him. Feel like he'd give me some MDMA first, so I could cope.
Horrible take. I tried to entertain the idea but it wasn't it
@barreldreamz7852 ur acting like I’m trying to sell a car lol
@barreldreamz7852wtf are you so serious for lmfao
Unexpected crossover event of the century
Haha I mean Hamilton has interviewed other chemistry youtubers before and his work has interested me since quite a while ago. I just never made content about it, but that will certainly change in the future ;-)
The one looks like Dr.Strangelove, the other one sounds like him, beautiful😂
Lol I am glad you enjoyed! :D
I laughed so hard at your comment!! Perfect
@hotpenny❤
I just had a google and I have to that you’re spot on the money
🤣
Hamilton Morris is a really great human and cooler than he might think. One of my favorite nerds or people who I never met.
Yes I fully agree with you!
Thank you both, Elias and Hamilton, for sharing that great meeting with us. It´s a mesmerizing journey into the world of (tellurium) chemistry.
Thank you for watching and the kind feedback. ;-)
It's nice to see these men who have found what they're passionate about in life and have done the work necessary for them to be able to pursue and execute their ambitions.
Glad you enjoyed watching! I mean I am personally not quite at a point were I can fully follow my passion, but I am getting there ;-)
Excellent interview, Hamilton is always fascinating to listen to. You seem to be the perfect anchor or counterweight to his introspective intensity, and dare I say pessimism. Glad I turned on all notifications. Look forward to seeing more
There will certainly be more to come, thank you for the very kind words! ;-)
Wow such a good surprise to see Hamilton Morris here! Time to get some popcorn and enjoy the interview.
Haha, I hope you enjoyed!
it feels quite special to know you are in a small group of humans who have tried a compound that almost no one has ever touched. like being in the aluminumaughty
@Global_Unwarming_69that stuff is fun.
We call them guinea pigs....lol.
Yes it is indeed way more interesting than trying something millions or even billions of others have tried.
love love love seeing hamilton age like a fine wine
my experience with this was IVing mcat. im assuming not many people have tried it.. and it wasnt very enjoyable but it felt special an the time
Hamilton seems pretty convinced they’ve done something big. I’m excited
The best collab ever
Thank you for the kind words! ;-)
The radioactive psychadellic joke of polonium made me thing i could definitely use this in a dystopian cyberpunk scifi setting . I love that that would make sense and inflict a dreadly random modifier 😂
*Psychedelic.
A most wonderful conversation.
this is so sick, i would never have dreamed of a tellurium containing psychedelic
Yeah me neither it is indeed quite the journey :D
This was cool, thanks man
I see Hamilton I click! Thank you for whatever im about to watch!
Thank you for watching!
such a cool video!!! thank you for recording this!
Thank you for the kind feedback!
Here early, just wanna say thanks for all the great vids big dog keep 'em coming
Thank you so much for watching, I will do my best to do exactly that!
Great interview, really fascinating!
Thank you!
Very good conversation. Definitely earned my sub.
Thank you for the kind feedback!
Thank you both. 👍
Thank you for watching!
Great great greaaaaat interview ❤
Thank you so much for the loving feedback! <3
As a non-chemist in the purest sense, these two are fascinating!
Haha thank you for watching!
Excellente content!
Thank you!
Holy shit. Glad you got to talk to Hamilton. I religiously consume every content with him 😅
Haha same goes for me and meeting was very interesting because of that.
I liked listening to your conversation. Thank you for this and the best of regards
Thank you for watching and the kind feedback!
Fascinating conversation! ❤
Thank you!
Y’all are on the forefront of psychedelic research! How exciting. Congratulations on your new tellurium compound and good luck with isolation.
Thank you!
Excellent video thank you
Thank you for the kind feedback! ;-)
Excelente 🎉
Thanks!
Glad Hamilton introduced me to your channel
Haha, welcome on board! :D
love seeing hamilton in his element ❤
Yeah me too :D
Nice one!
Thank you!
Shulgin is the whole reason I majored in O-Chem. The 2c compounds were pivotal in making me who I am today. That along with the amazing gift from Hofmann. . .
That is so amazing to hear, thank you for sharing that!
O Chem is a major? That’s awesome
Jion the club
Y'all are livin the dream
gotta find some of those myself
I was for sure not expecting this collaboration.
Well always something new I guess :D
Such a brilliant mind. Absolute legend!
Yes he is indeed!
Hätte nicht gedacht, dass du auch so chillig bist :-)
Wie muss ich das denn verstehen :D
Great interview
Thank you!
always nice to hear what Hamilton's got goin on
Yeah it is always extremly interesting I find ;-)
I dunno how but Hamilton got the mad scientist look and the super-genius look all in one 😳
Lol haha
It's cool to apply my undergrad level organic chemistry knowledge in these videos.
They are doing very interesting things using very foundational concepts.
Thank you for your feedback!
Best to interview in years. What makes a good cameraman not always makes the chemist or sadhu
Thank you for the kind feedback!
Thank you 🥔
Thank you for watching! ;-)
I need to snag an LL shirt! What an incredible piece of memorabilia.
I don't know if you can buy them anywhere.
Youtube recommended me the massproduced potassium video, but recommending this video would have made me click much faster on it... I'm glad I clicked both
I am glad you enjoyed ;-)
I ❤ these two they are so natural and very knowledgeable I get lost in videos...
Thank you for the kind feedback ;-)
Worst trip of my life on 2ce. Everything became fake and wrong any everything everyone said sounded sarcastic so the cops trying to reassure me over and over that they were "just trying to help" sounded like they were mocking me and the more i freaked out the more they tried to persuade me they were just there to help. "We only want to help you, we're not gonna hurt you". It was the hellish feedback loop.
Heh, doesn't sound fun but makes a good story. Vivid
2C-E is a weird one and it's quite powerful. 2C-B and 2C-I are much more friendly. I didn't like 2C-E either.
Very interesting, thank you for sharing your experience!
