Quitting weed is easy, I’ve done it like twelve times.

@animugril2166 - 2025-11-04

How much does this help a recovering addict? Think before posting, drug issues make your town less safe to live in.

@Noise991 - 2025-11-04

And that’s just today!

@j.a1905 - 2025-11-05

you can literally change "weed" for "league of legends" and the video would still make sense.

@grenetin6062 - 2025-11-05

Almost made it to dia😊

@jessievelasquez3475 - 2025-11-05

Lmao Bruhhh

@josephwessex - 2025-11-05

Yes. This video is more biased than his average video and clearly scapegoats weed.

@TheJayRoth - 2025-11-05

Dude, ARAM has helped me quit weed. When queded I don't have time and don't want to be flagged AFK. ARAM is also the only time I usually smoke weed.... that doesn't make sense.

@shon4393 - 2025-11-05

I've been sober from both for 5 months now lmaooooo. I made it to master playing high as shit in my prime college years, and I regret it so much.

@DPDragoon - 2025-11-04

I don't smoke weed, but now I'm feeling depressed about all my "missed milestones"

@WilliWilfredWonka - 2025-11-04

Some aspects of the video are quite toxic. Life is more than what society expects of you. No reason to be sad. Sending you a hug.

@Shjeshje - 2025-11-04

That's silly. Everyone "misses milestones." It's inevitable. We can't do everything. Cliche or not, you should be happy for the experiences you've had and the ones you will continue to have. Don't mind the ones you think you missed. You'll just end up missing the ones you are having :(

@wanderinghammer - 2025-11-04

@WilliWilfredWonka I was thinking this too. The video makes some common but not necessarily universal assumptions about what a "leading a good life" looks like. This is a very complex and hotly debated topic in philosophy. Hedonism, epicureanism, and stoicism are the OGs but there are innumerable answers to the question of what gives life purpose and meaning. There are just a lot of assumptions going on in this video that won't apply to everyone.

@anwarmorse - 2025-11-04

Amen brother. Wish I had something to quit to make my life better.

@luv_cat6 - 2025-11-04

@SketchyStuff-i6y what was your favorite country to visit? That’s so cool

@razzynz5664 - 2026-05-18

Daily smoker for 15 years + here. Man, it's all true.. self isolation, procrastination, and prioritizing smoking is the biggest regret of my life so far. Hands down.

Smoking occasionally wouldve been fine, but I never had the self-control for that. This is my second day without, and this video really helped remind me why I NEED to stop. To all my fellow stoners; one day at a time, you got this! I wish we were friends so I could give you a big hug, but I know we can get up that hill together regardless!

@edjee.sw. - 2026-05-20

2 days in too I’m in the insomnia phase we’re gonna make it man

@lebOnYt90210 - 2026-06-25

Based comment

@adamlevine6700 - 2026-07-08

I'm watching while stoned out of my mind! Only started smoking in my 40s and it's the best decision I ever made. I am so much happier in life with weed in my soul.

@ingramr88 - 2026-07-10

@edjee.sw.same!!!! What helped you with the insomnia? How long till it passes?

@benjaminloyd6056 - 2026-07-12

Have an Internet hug brother!
Remember, its not about never relapsing. What is important is that you never stop trying.
Every time you fall, you get back up.

@shade5554 - 2025-11-04

Imagine not smoking weed and still facing all the negatives mentioned in this video.

I know that person, it's me.

@DragoNate - 2025-11-04

same here

@TuaExistentiaMeOffendit - 2025-11-04

U should start smoking weed

@slippyfloor - 2025-11-04

You just need to live your life a little more uncomfortably. There's nothing to lose and everything to gain from being in a place of discomfort compared to complacency

@blidfid - 2025-11-04

same bro wtf, I guess some people need weed to mimic a fraction of our power

@plusultrainstinct3097 - 2025-11-04

Same, dude.

@ALT36A - 2025-11-08

I don't personally smoke weed myself, but this video makes me want to see a kurzgesagt about doomscrolling and screen addiction.

@EverydayAmazed - 2025-11-08

They already have one about exactly that.

@GorgutsFan1998 - 2025-11-09

real

@ALT36A - 2025-11-09

@EverydayAmazed really? can I have the link plz?

@sycops1 - 2025-11-09

@ALT36A YouTube doesn't let people post links, but if you search "Tired of Doomscrolling?"

That's the title from them. It was posted a year ago.

@ALT36A - 2025-11-09

@sycops1 Yeah that ones just a story video to inspire hope, I was talking more about a deep dive into the effects of social media and other screens on the brain

@Trizpy - 2025-11-04

“Well, Stan, the truth is marijuana probably isn't gonna make you kill people, and it most likely isn't gonna fund terrorism, but, well son, pot makes you feel fine with being bored, and it's when you're bored that you should be learning some new skill or discovering some new science or being creative. If you smoke pot you may grow up to find out that you aren't good at anything.”
― South Park

@MintyLime - 2025-11-04

Back when South Park actually gave solid life lessons and promoted common sense in the face of extreme ideas and hysteria

@hallow6763 - 2025-11-04

@MintyLime they still do that wym

@brandonsnyder9950 - 2025-11-04

@MintyLimeI dunno; I thought the new one about fake Christians using Christianity to bully people was pretty poignant.

@bry7954 - 2025-11-04

Super solid tbh

@Blag_Cog - 2025-11-04

@MintyLime I still see south park doing exactly that today.

@rherd - 2026-07-16

I watched this randomly 7 months ago before work. It hit me right at the time I needed it and I decided to stop smoking after being a chronic user for about a decade. 7 months weed free and I’m so happy I stopped, maybe some day I’ll reintroduce it as a casual thing. But I really became an all day stoner for far too long. It wasn’t fun like it used to be, and now I don’t even think about it. It hasn’t magically cured my issues, but it feels freeing to not feel tethered to this crutch I used for so long.

@OcelotPwns - 2025-11-06

Jokes on you. I wasted my 20s without using weed.

@pikiwiki - 2025-11-06

exactly

@sandeshvantveen - 2025-11-06

My face when he mentioned hopping between entry level jobs without the ambition to be promoted: 😬

@aslda785 - 2025-11-06

same

@Von_Meatingen - 2025-11-06

Honestly... I while I probably didn't completely waste them (without drugs), I know I could have done more, so I'm feeling you!

@Tyriann - 2025-11-06

@sandeshvantveenlmaooo you’re funny don’t change

@hex5741 - 2025-11-04

The notification was just "You need to Quit"

@nandakumargp - 2025-11-04

Glad I didn't quit my life

@usernameZW - 2025-11-04

While I was rolling a blunt 😢

@ThatItalianMapper - 2025-11-04

I misread it as ‘I need to quit’ and got worried Kurzgesagt might end

@spudman1734 - 2025-11-04

I thought it was going to be quitting general addiction not specific to weed

@smnio5619 - 2025-11-04

In the middle of school

@axelprino - 2025-11-04

I never smoked weed, heck I don't even drink alcohol, yet this video is pretty much describing how my life started to go to hell around the time I became 30. You don't need to be an addict for this to happen to you, just being depressed or coping poorly with grief can also lead you down this road, I'm speaking from personal experience here.

@thejudgefrom69 - 2025-11-04

Hey man. God bless.
Let wisdom and guidance be on your soul!

@ShadoWendiGh0st - 2025-11-04

That's what I got from the video as well, it's not just about weed it's about going forward and quitting what's holding you back.

@user-im2te2fg9y - 2025-11-04

smoking isnt why the people in this cartoon would end up like they did... just ignore every underlying problerm... surface level deep gas lighting

@colinatorism - 2025-11-04

It’s almost like there’s no real correlation between weed use and all the negative “effects” of outlined here about “cannabis use disorder”

Lots of “coulds” and “mights” in this one

@frankenmint - 2025-11-04

exactly... I do smoke weed everyday and am passed the age suggested. I mean, south park did this thing about what he's saying here, that you grow comfortable and befriend apathy at the expense of growth.... yeah well that's just depression too... Imean over eating can be an issue for many just the same. It's possible they made this video for the sake of coaxing the algorithm and for pulling in views from pot smokers, because this isn't even about showing anything, its about driving revenues

@sevit_5 - 2026-06-03

This is true. You can be addicted. Would get stoned almost everyday for the past 4-5 years. Started off as fun and exciting. Go to school, get my work done, then get loaded. Then it slowly turned into bringing it INSIDE school. Use to think I was the shit. 4 days since I smoked and it’s been a real struggle. But watching this helped me realize how much more of a problem I have. Literally went searching around my room to see if I could find an old one somewhere but I’m such a Fein that I wouldn’t allow one to just be sitting somewhere.

@Typhoon.1 - 2025-11-05

It almost feels like this video has had more of an impact on people who don’t smoke weed rather than those who do

@Haywil27 - 2025-11-05

i respectfully disagree

@armouros - 2025-11-05

yep its made me wont to smoke..... so i can quit and everything will be better after house family frindes sound good

@reitzowl - 2025-11-05

Probably because those of us who have done it have an idea that it isn't as bad as what a lot of "studies" say

@dunar1005 - 2025-11-05

Those who do liked the colours and the birds

@acardinalconsideration824 - 2025-11-05

Replace ‘weed’ with mindless screen time and basically all of this heavily applies to me.

@Kulkogo - 2025-11-04

Regardless how safe it is, never treat any addiction lightly

@WhistleMissile6.7 - 2025-11-04

It’s not safe. It’s also not dangerous. It’s no different that drinking. Gotta show self control.

@carnifex2005 - 2025-11-04

That's the problem, weed isn't safe yet idiots are advocating it is.

@RHCole - 2025-11-04

@carnifex2005 Safer than alcohol

@SubnetMask - 2025-11-04

I asked my therapist what is the difference between an addiction and something you just enjoy a lot. She said it's when it is affecting your family and relationships. So I abandoned my startup.

@mathias5578 - 2025-11-04

@carnifex2005natural selection..

Not that weed kills you, but it ain't good for the brain. If someone is okay with worsened memory later in life, it is their choice.

@Slippergypsy - 2025-11-04

It's amazing watching people in these comments realise their lives are quite empty even without the weed.. ironically this is probably why weed is so popular these days

@jmack8767 - 2025-11-04

The amount of effort everyone's putting into NOT overly agreeing with the idea that WEED is an enabling factor is every, very interesting.

@Shards_of_Winter - 2025-11-04

@jmack8767it’s because there an obvious bigger problem/conversation considering even a lot of the people not on the drug still seemingly experience the same drawbacks/problems

@Niosus - 2025-11-04

@jmack8767it certainly doesn't help. I think that the problem here is that the differences between the using and non-using group are smaller than the internal differences between either of the groups. You have over-achieving habitual users, and loners that have never touched a joint. Yet on average I'd wager it's really hard to guess whether someone used a lot of weed in their twenties or not.

I don't think it necessarily enables, since we have so many easy sources or dopamine these days that socially have the same effect. But it does make people more okay with the situation. What I wonder is that those people that do fall behind, how many of those would do so anyway? How bad is the self-selection effect there. Because I know plenty of people who smoked every day, yet (mostly) quit when life got more busy and demanding. Literally all of them are doing fine now. Buying houses, getting kids, move up in their careers. Textbook thirties stuff.

Is there an effect beyond the basic addiction that people with addictive personalities fall victim to? Because something like a gaming addiction will have pretty much the same effect on someone's life as described in the video, even though no substance is involved there.

@cidshroom - 2025-11-05

Funny enough, smoking weed made me a lot of friends. I think when you're doing poorly, people like to point to a cause, when sometimes it's just bad luck

@animalmetalgeti - 2025-11-05

Yup, but in a way its good, you need reality checks to have a chance to change if something is missing or resist and do your thing.

@almythical1096 - 2026-04-23

This video really made me wanna go for a walk to the beach, take a swim, meditate and smoke. Too much internet feels like it's frying my brain fr.

@JiggleBilly91 - 2025-11-11

I got a college degree and still can’t land a job interview. No weed required!

@borkyswan5148 - 2025-11-12

@seekertosecrets7618 - 2025-11-04

I know how feel. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been in a relationship since I was 17. That was 23 years ago. You have a better shot than me. Don't give up.

@InterestedDolphin - 2025-11-04

“30” is a big deal solely because we arbitrarily use base 10 as our number system (ie, we use 10 symbols for numbers).

If we were base 12, what we now call 36 would be a big deal (it would be written as “30”)

If we used binary…. What we now call 30 would be written as 11110. “Omg, I’m 11110 years old, I’m officially old 😭”

Nope. 30 is just the next number after 29. And the change from 3 to 2 in the “tens” place is solely because we happen to use base 10 as our number system.

It’s just another number.

Let me know if that’s not clear — people seem to really struggle with this concept that our way of writing numbers is ultimately completely arbitrary, and that’s the only reason 20, 30, 40, etc “feel” like big deals

@log9357 - 2025-11-04

Crazy how much of the symptoms of problematic weed use are just a 1:1 to persistent/untreated depression and anxiety. Isolation, difficulty socialising, poor academic and work performance, lack of motivation and ambition, "not even getting close to living up to your potential"... All this to say, I've never smoked a joint in my life but I'm just as fucked as if I had, what joy

@Malta_ - 2025-11-04

This video is misleading, people use drugs, rot away in front of a phone or tv, play video games for many many hours a day and etc as a coping mechanism for when life is shit. Weed outside of making heavy users get on the 'slow' side doesnt really lead to anything said in this video.

A person that will self isolate and lose of track of life like that simply has other underlining problems. I was in a situation much like in this video when I hit the worst point of my depression, now I am in a better place and consume weed much more than I used during that time (I now eat like two edibles a month or so).

Just track on mate, being self aware is the first step, life is kinda shit but there is good all around us, you just have to work a bit to find what will bring you joy

@moonbean169 - 2025-11-04

Yeah, im kinda like this too. Except I use weed to cope now but it was the same either way. Weed actually feels like it makes me more experimental and able to enjoy new things(i limit myself to 1 edible anweek usually). Depression fucks your brain worse then weed. Anyways hang in there maybe things will get better.

@NaudVanDalen - 2025-11-04

Life is all luck. We have no free will. If we both happened to have insane motivation and discipline, we'd probably both be rich and famous by now.

@joshuasmith2809 - 2025-11-04

If it makes you feel better, I never smoked weed or had anxiety, depression, or problems socialising and the only thing that I've NOT missed out on according to this is having a good friendship group into my mid thirties. Just shit luck and todays job climate. I've gone to uni, got good grades, applied for so many jobs over the years, done everything I was told I was supposed to do, always worked hard etc. This video was clearly written by a boomer or gen x who missed out in their time and climate. Doesn't feel realistic for todays climate.

@Malta_ - 2025-11-04

@moonbean169 When I was pretty bad in my depression I stopped making art completely. When I eat an edible I pretty much always feel like drawing lol!

It is hard to find a hobby or anything that will get you out of your own head but I recommend just trying stuff, being good is not the goal, just having fun should come first!

Much love mate, we will pull through

@SupErnaTuraL315 - 2026-02-15

Thank you for this. I ruined my early 20s, addicted. My senior superlative was “most outgoing”. By 20, I had trouble leaving the house. The “what’re you doing tonight” texts stopped coming and I spiraled deeper. It wasn’t until 26 I realized my friends are coming out of school as attorneys or starting their residency in hospitals that i screwed up. It’s been 3 years now and I can’t believe how far I’ve come. I haven’t felt an ounce of anxiety since, I say that without hyperbole. I picked it back up about 6 months ago and started falling back into my old patterns. Thank you for this. 2 weeks of night sweats and anxiety to freedom. You guys can do it too

@foshizzlebizz4470 - 2026-02-17

Hey. You did it once you can do it again! I am 24 and smoked weed from age 16 to 23. I didn’t quit until I failed out of college for my second time. Now, I’m only two months from finishing my degree.

Except this past year I’ve had multiple surgeries for injuries and one was for an abnormal growth in my head. As of January I picked weed back up and fell into the same slump I used to be in. Now in February, I cried for the first time in 3 years once I realized how much I’ve been avoiding my friends and how I don’t even feel like relaxing with videogames anymore, instead rotting in bed all day fried. If you are curious what made me realize what’s happening to me, it was while watching “Chainsaw Man: Reze arc”. That’s what made me finally cry genuine tears. I’m very glad I was able to cry after only 6 weeks of falling back into weed; it was the absolute purest release and I quit weed that night and woke up the next day nice and fresh, minus the top-to-bottom coat of sweat 😂.

Anyways, I believe in you. Lean into your strengths and tend to your weaknesses. It’s so good you were able to reflect appropriately and spot those old patterns coming back

@anakinskora3700 - 2026-02-23

Whoa okay, so... Are we all just getting clean in our late twenties??? Let's go I gues?? I don't smoke weed I get instantly sick and faint but this applies so hard to cigarettes, I've been trying to quit that one and oh boy is it a different battle. I have been consistent in developing healthy patterns to create a solid background, that's how I quit once before. Relapsed because of fate (long story) and now back at it. One is more than zero. One more healthy habit is better than none. One push up is better than laying down. One page of an article is better than none. And one refused cigarette is more work done than none.

@SupErnaTuraL315 - 2026-02-24

@anakinskora3700 Dude, read Alan Carr. It sounds so dumb that a book makes you realize how easy it is to quit. I've been vaping since I was 15. I watched this video and figured it was the first thing that had to go. I listened to the book after a buddy told me to. 5 days deep, no nic, no cravings. The longest i've gone in 10+ years! I'm still reeling at how easy it was/is. Makes you feel so dumb for wasting half of my life, tens of thousands of dollars, to give myself recurring anxiety. You can do it!

@machosalad123 - 2025-11-04

Maybe you should start using drugs for the reverse effect:?

@tristanwahlin8571 - 2025-11-04

This is what I’m sayin… like I have none of these problems and I’m high as fuck all the time. I’m a very motivated 24 year old I would say.. I work a lot and am about to apply to get my masters so that I can eventually become a professor and teach entrepreneurial strategy to underprivileged people somewhere in the world. And I know I’m not perfect, but it feels like it’s not a matter of weed, but of self discipline. I mean to live a life full of fun and hobbies to me is achievable even though I enjoy smoking weed. Idk, maybe I should just stop though and trust that everyone else is right and I’m wrong

@IronWilliam - 2025-11-04

Yeah, I feel like there's some problems with correlation =/= causation in this video. I'm not sure the takeaway of 'you're missing out on stuff because you're getting high' is a better explanation than 'people who are already missing out on stuff don't have anything better to do than get high'. The kind of daily use addiction being described in the video certainly prevents the problem from getting better, but isn't necessarily the source of the underlying problems, and that might need more resources to fix than just not using weed.

@Ianprodu - 2025-11-05

@raphaelantoine7331 a lot of things in our daily lives have addictive elements, but our society puts stigma behind certain ones and dismisses others as not a problem. When what we really need to do is being having healthy realistic conversations about addiction across the board. But some people aren’t ready for this conversation.

@CatsLilaSalem - 2025-11-20

@malibujukebox - 2026-07-27

A bit of a testimonial for anyone else facing a similar situation with weed and can relate. I've been a casual weed user since 2018 (when weed was legalized in CA), and that started in my mid-20s. I had no issues with my consumption up until last year when the world started feeling a bit too insane and I used unhealthy coping mechanisms to manage my frustration, stress, and spiraling emotions, with weed becoming that primary salve. I first saw this video when it released and I balked at it, thinking it only applied to more serious, addicted users and didn't relate to me. However, 8 months later, I've only accelerated my weed use to almost daily without fully realizing it and it has negatively affected my mental health, work, social life, and family relationships. Returning to this video gave me more clarity on how I've been misusing weed, which itself is not to blame, but rather my overreliance on it to get through each day. I have no good reason to consume it daily - it just became a routine. So with that understanding, I'm making a pledge to myself today to take those 4 weeks off of weed to recenter my priorities and allow some time to reflect on what I've truly been struggling with. Take care of yourself, everyone.

@SamFirthDesigner - 2026-08-01

Hope you got your goals

@Cyclops_Unibrow - 2025-11-04

Replace the word “weed” with social media and the video still holds true…

@Bwamppppppp - 2025-11-04

I personally do not smoke weed or drink, but that was also the takeaway I got from here. Especially the whole doom scrolling on your phone and missing out on more worth-while shit. I'm only 19, so I feel I got time to make up for lost time. I just gotta start now.. You take care, Clippy.

@arox5762 - 2025-11-04

@Astrikss - 2025-11-04

Social media doesn't cause schizophrenia, which is a pretty cool distinction to make.

@Kwijibob - 2025-11-04

@Astrikss The hell it doesn't. Have you seen what people post on social media?

@NME-t9p - 2025-11-04

Yep, and social media/web addiction is far more common. Weed addiction is bad and I feel for those who ruin their lives (as with any addiction), but it affects a relatively small segment of the population. Social media/web addiction is at such a scale that it is literally civilization threatening at this point. Here in the US we have been living the nightmare induced by social media disinformation campaigns for a decade now, and it feels like society is beginning to slowly break down. Everyone is disillusioned and there is very little social cohesion between different segments of the population. Instead of bringing us all together as promised, social media has driven a wedge between us all and created a frightening amount of animosity between people. Much like the consequences of cannabis use disorder, but at a societal scale.

@palp8623 - 2026-01-12

This isnt about weed. It's about any addiction. Literally anything.

@rdyjur - 2026-01-29

@rdyjur - 2026-02-02

@TheScatmanne although worth noting that not everyone suffers from weed like this. but you can caveat any addiction by saying that. There's always gonna be perfectly functional and sometimes not even addicted drinkers, smokers, tokers, gamblers, etc.

I’d love to see how this data changes when people with chronic illness are considered in the study population. A huge portion of daily weed users have conditions like EDS, fibromyalgia, cancer, MS, etc who have other circumstances that make them feel like they are missing out on life milestones

@marcusc9931 - 2025-11-04

Looks like a symptom of general misery. Lots of stuff wouldn't be as addictive if we built a happier society

@itsamefkjionn6803 - 2025-11-04

This is definitely true but I find it incredibly unhelpful to come to a video about things that people can do to change their lives for the better, and then say "but it's because of society".

Pretty much everything is, but society is not gonna change fast enough to help you get your life together.

Lastly you're fooling yourself if you don't see that this could just be another weakness of the human condition. A thing that would be a problem for a significant amount of people regardless of if we've sorted out community/inequality etc.

I see this type of comment too often on posts like this and I feel it helps shift the locus of control from anyone who needs a kick in their ass.

@s.colins2050 - 2025-11-04

While, yes, improving society as a whole dramatically helps with things like addiction and crime, producers and suppliers can't just make the addictive parts of a substance exponentially stronger compared to decades ago to make their product more attractive and blame it entirely on society. That would be comparable to a bar selling more vodka to someone whose already in it, so to speak, and than claim they don't have at least partial responsibility for the fall out when shit goes sideways later. There's a reason overselling is illegal even when it's hard to enforce. Hell, if tobacco companies suddenly started artificially jacking up the nicotine in their tobacco products to make themselves more money, people would scream about criminal negligence and liability, because those still have moral stigma.

@st.robespierre - 2025-11-04

Thanks for talking about this. I have a friend and his twenties just passed as he was smoking weed with roomies in a rented apartment. Before that, he used to be adventurous, go out, travel, he had a bunch of ideas. Once he started smoking daily, he stopped going out, stopped doing anything really other than stay at home. We’re still friends in some sense cause I’ve known him for a decade, but it’s been sad seeing how he just faded away from life.

@dogukancil5128 - 2025-11-09

Looking at the comments section and seeing how many people who have never smoked weed relate to this video, I can now see that weed itself is not the main issue. Weed might even be a symptom/coping mechanism of something screwed up about our society.

@KaraokeDeepCuts - 2025-11-09

Being in a comments section might also be a symptom :/

@schwanzkopf - 2025-11-09

...or weed may be both, for some people a symptom but for others it might very well be the main issue

@Brittow - 2025-11-09

I think that's just capitalism..

@megabates9016 - 2025-11-09

Agreed! I understood the video as it's not weed itself the main issue, it's about being addict to weed. Daily use being one of the sign

@DardyGG - 2025-11-09

Consider we are all exposed to the same society and have the same base experience, then consider weed is the only difference. Then you can see weed is the main difference.
