Elias seems like a really good lab partner. He has a great sense of danger, and correctly predicts everything that can go wrong. As long as you negate every statement.
The amount of times you went "it's fine" just moments before disaster is perfect comedy.
Filming this project with you was such a blast! I hope we can do a lot more projects like this together in the future! ;-)

That's why I decided to make 2kg of cesium. I figure if 1.5kg is dangerous, I better stay away from that number. Presumably, the further away I get from 1.5kg, the safer it will be. So, really I should be going for like 10kg here. I mean, I can't very well make -8.5kg of cesium... unless I start with cesium and consume 8.5kg in a reaction. I guess that would be like "making" -8.5kg.

From someone with a pastry cook past, ovens tend to keep moist air inside despite the heat. I like to keep the door opened up a little with something like a spoon or spatula when I want to finish cooking "wet" pastry doughs such as choux.
A tray of desiccant is my usual go-to when drying stuff in the oven.

I recently got a used vacuum oven, which is probably the best way to dry something like this.
@AdvancedTinkering residential electric ovens tend to be sealed, whereas residential gas ovens tend to be vented to let combustion gases escape. The upshot is that despite producing water as part of burning the gas, residential gas ovens frequently have lower humidity than their electric counter parts. This can be noticeable when cooking/baking. Of course, both types of ovens are suboptimal when used for chemistry experiments.

I swear, you guys need an engineer to make some of these setups not so terrifyingly unsafe. I barely understand how orbitals work, but the shenanigans in this video make me fear that your insides will soon be on the outside.

Oh trust me, they are being pretty safe for "amateur" chemists. They are implementing professional techniques on a budget. If you want to see how it looks like when somebody without proper training does chemistry, check Mr.Greenguy.

24:00 Plus Cs in it's metallic state is basically worthless to most industries who use Cs for products. In optics we use Cesium Chromate, more stable and easy to extract the Cs under a UHV.
