Lol! Absolutely. But those are typical hobby grade. Through work I've dealt with thousands of commercial grade LiPos. I've got some that are more than 15 years old still going strong. Obviously they didn't get cycled like with hobby use or cellphone use, so not really fair to compare, but cycle-for-cycle I bet they would last twice what typical hobby-cells will.
LiPos only really like being at a voltage of about 3.8 V, a reasonable temperature, and no physical stress. Any deviation from those parameters will reduce their lifespan. And if the deviation is high enough, the reduction in lifespan is instant and possibly spectacular.

I have to say my favorite part of this project is just how SICK the laser "gun" looks. It's so perfect, the water tank foregrip, the GPU fan bolted to the top, the oversized lens bracket on the front, the integrated 7-segment display, the little box with red wires coming out of it. It literally looks like it came from Fallout but IT'S REAL.

As a commercial pilot, I’m just going to say this for any muppets buying shit off TEMU. Don’t shine lasers at planes. Had 3 laser events in the last week. Last one got me good in one eye, I had uneven night vision for landing after sitting in near darkness for hours prior.
(Try laying in bed after a few hours - and shining your phone torch in only one eye) and then try to focus on a book. It’s messed up.

A bright light doesn’t permanently damage your vision, but it can significantly degrade your night vision for a period of time. I used to work as a laser cutter on big CNC laser machines, and it's crazy to think you've almost recreated the strength of one of the weaker lasers we used in the size of a handheld device. Our smallest laser which was used to predominately cut 3mm steel all day was the size of a pick up truck with a trailer attached.
I feel like this runs into the standard difference between commercial and home grade equipment: styro's laser wouldn't survive the multiple hour work days your truck laser did.
Despite that fancy water cooling rig, I'd bet some components would still suffer heat failure after only a few minutes of continuous output.

Societal collapse is full scale, my team and I have survived by raiding shelters and residential ruins for their supplies. Today we're hitting a neighborhood across the dead zone in Illinois. Everything within a hundred miles of us is picked clean so we have to continually travel further for anything meaningful. Maybe we can get some batteries or microchips. The place looks like a dump, so we arent expecting hostilities.
As we approach the house my crew mate trips a wire, which activates a lighting system on the property. As soon as I convinced myself it was a leftover security measure from before the bombs I here a voice from inside the house. "Finally!!!" Followed by crazy laughter. Out of nowhere a powerful blue beam his my partners face. He screams as the beam whistles and whines. His clothes light on fire and he hollers in pain. His skin is blistered and his eyes are darl red.
"Oh God what was that!!!??" He says "holy shit Im blind! I cant see! I cant see!!!"
Suddenly another beam emits. This one is nearly white. So got I can feel the heat from yards away. There are no more screams from Jerry this time.. Im guessing because whatever that was melted his brain..

that's an intersting idea, but that's probably way way harder. all the mechanical part of making a 3d printer is pretty hard as it is, and then you have to cool such a big powerful laser so that it can operate continuously for hours(instead of seconds) at a time

@lordfordification They probably need a special lense. In an earlier video (forget which one) he shows what happens to an unshielded camera sensor. It had a bunch of green spots just from looking at the spot on a target
One stray reflection would burn out the sensor. It's so sensitive. Any lens to filter that out would probably make the scene too dark to see anything other than the beam itself

Miles? Not even close. The focal length is way to short for that.
Not in this lasers current configuration. The focal point in this laser was not very far, maybe 1-1.5 feet. The diameter of the beam from miles away would be far to large to do any damage to anything except be an annoyance perhaps. If collimated for optimal range with a tight beam then yes.
