It doesn't make sense. Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by things that glow in the dark. I had a few glow toys that I really liked, but I either lost them or gave them away. I could've just bought some new ones, but I thought it would be a lot more fun to make my own from scratch. Nile : “I couldn’t find any nuclear bombs online”
Also Nile : “However , i found a website which was selling them for really cheap”
Lol
Lmao
Hæhæ
I couldn't find any yellow cake uranium online any cheap suggestions?
"It turns out, it can be surprisingly simple"
40 minute video
Lol
You could buy a cake
You could make a cake
This guy makes a whole farm to produce the ingredients he needs and makes the cake
Nono no… he makes the cellular structure of the animals to make it
Buddy, you're talking about Minecraft
Hence he never actually makes any cakes.
@user NileRed and Binging with Babish crossover when?
@0range_0reo : )
I think future Nile would be like -"Now I could buy the zinc powder but I wanted to make my zinc from scratch...so I went on an expedition to dig rocks first.."
Lmao .. all the comments are just crushing him! I wonder how he must be feeling while reading all these comments
@I know you he has a sense of humor, so I'm pretty sure he's finding them funny and laughing and smiling at them

@Pre Poster I think watching Nile Red is the answer thine soul searches for.
Lol
cant forget uranium glass
Next:splitting an atom in half!
"SCiEncE iS An eXAcT pRoCesS"
Nilered: "no"
N O
Well yes, but actually no
NileRed: *makes glow toys with complicated chemicals*
me: *paints mine with glow in the dark clear nail polish*
14:43 The most important tool in a chemist's arsenal: The Fork
My favourite part is that in a recent NileBlue video (bismuth knife) he didn't have a knife in the lab, but a fork? That's fine.
Good Pfp
Da Fork, Da Mighty FOrk
@Youber Channel 🤓
New Video Series: NileRed spends hours just purifying chemicals he gets off the internet.
Everything fails and everyone dies
Nile: As expected
🤣🤣🤣
Everyone: Lets get out of hear it gonna explode.
Nile: Got to get the content and experience
@yume. 😐 you did not have to add the “🤓” emoji.
Venus blows up
Nile: I was not surprised
You mean : that was kind of expected to me
This video made me remember all the glow in the dark toys I used to play with when I was a kid. Weird how you can go 25+ years without thinking about something, then when you remember it, the memory is so vivid it feels like it was yesterday
Brain so excited to discover new memory that it decides to remember it in HD
That copper sulfate has to be the bluest thing I’ve ever seen... it’s beautiful
yeah yeah he get caught with blue crystals but no officer it's "copper sulfate" don't work on me huh
You forgot about cobalt
“Didn’t fix the major problem... that this method sucked” 😂
Person: So what did you do today?
This guy: I put glowing resin into a baby mold.
I like how he didn't even change his tone when talking about how sad he was when his mom threw his toys out.
My mom threw out my vintage dolls :(
The inability to modulate your tone is a sign of Asperger's. Elon Musk recently said he has Asperger's.
Monotone Nigel
@[Dallas] not anymore hahah
@Alexander Kirk yessssss
I learn more chemistry from him than my teachers.
14:42 "I used this fork.."
Nah fam thats a threek
19:35 "I was eventually left with all this pasty looking stuff"
Wow, that exact line was in my wife's vows!
The most scientific of tools: The Small Fork
"But it didn't fix the major problem: that this method sucked."
Nile has a penchant for quoting the obvious in the most funny ways.
Heysauce Mikehere be more constructive in comments
ElTurbinado pardon?
"Nile would be great at Cinema Sins"
I interpreted it "the major problem why this method sucked", colon implied after.
Chemists are witty :)
NileRed: "This isn't soluble in water, so it lets off these tiny small little particles"
Me and my cursed brain: "If you drink this you'd die in like under a minute-"
Wait why so fast
@derty dan idk lol I just said that it’d probably be more like a good couple of minutes while it tries to digest 😆
"so to make my toys..." my mom was walking by when she heard this and just stared at me like if i had issues
Me: "My humor is very mature"
My humor: 34:27
And then repeatedly clicking your timestamp. :p LOL
🤣🤣🤣
𓂸
Thanks for the timestamp xD
"the most attractive mold for a child to put on a cake that you're supposed to be eating" here's some food for a nightmare, you're welcome
This is the best channel on YouTube. I love how this entire video is just “my mom threw out my glow dinosaur so I did chemistry and made my own”
Best comment I've read all week
hey it’s a lesbian! i’m a pansexual happy pride month
I like the background in your profile pic.
Imma guess you listen to girl in red.
@『・Ribbit ・』 my first thought too.
I'm pansexual as well!!
Happy pride!!
『・axol ・』 Aye! Thanks! Happy pride fellow LGBTQ+ people.
21:28 Heisenberg: I approve, but not as pure as mine.
Literally my thoughts
The uncertainty principle? 😂
@Prapan The Bachelorette it’s a breaking bad reference
14:44 without sound
Mmmh my favorite meal, iron sulfide.
"And so I was spending a night with my mistress in Chernobyl when I got this crazy idea"
ok
“I was excited about that because I could make some creepy glowing babies” lmao
3 year old Nile: “wow look at all that stored light energy”
My dad tell me
He was destined to be a great chemist alright!
Ik
I would be like, “it light up” and that would be it
Hehehe
Once upon a magical time, my lovely mother threw away my dinosaur toys. So then I became a chemist and became #relatable.
"That just sounds like molding with extra steps"!
"That just sounds like buying the toys with extra steps"
he said i
Ah I remember slacking on studying for my o lvl chem last year to watch this. For some reason I just can't stop watching your videos despite having no interest in chem.
"My only issue was that the baby wasn't as creepy as I thought it would be."
Quote of the year.
@Scanlaid That one absolutely killed me
When he said that I absolutely chuckled
Senior yearbook quote #456
The good ending of the PS3 commercial. Yes, this implies that we live in the bad ending.
Lovely! These videos showing the whole process, with failures and learning curve, are priceless! Big thumb up! (I think you had a lot of cleaning to do too :D)
"As a kid...." LMAO. Dude, your genius fascinates me. And good that you stayed away from radium! 👍
Does the whole object being made up of the ZnS-infused material help make it glow brighter and longer? Wouldn't just coating the surface of the object with the Glow-in-the-dark material help just as equally?
5:41 that reaction, the way the smoke seems to freeze, my mind cant process it
Good observation 😍🧪 I wish Nile sees this and respond to you. - a fellow curious mind
"Making something that glows seemed almost impossible" ok mr homemade glowsticks and uranium glass
@THE DOOM SLAYER hello fellow slayer
Lmao😂
Ikr
I don't even remember this yet i have TWO THOUSANDS likes on a NILERED video!!
@Robo1290 I dont think he has 2000 videos 😑
Altanetive title: Going to chyernobyl And throwing a baby in the reactor
It's called Tschernobyl
@Renee M no 😐
@Pusab google it wtf
Someone: NILE DON'T YOU DARE THROW THE BABY IN THE REACTOR
Nile: throws the baby in the reactor
also Nile: Look we have a glowing baby now!
Baby: dies from radiation poisoning
Nile: f*ck
@Renee M We don’t care
I would love to see more strontium chemistry. Hopefully you do that sooner than later!
Hey man, just wanna say we all really appreciate your hard work and creativity. You are an inspiration.
I've always loved glow in the dark and florescent things, I get to relive my childhood with my water cooled PC running CCFT's and florescent red coolant.
Now only if they could make a glow in the dark coolant that wouldn't be abrasive or corrosive.
"and sadly, it wasn't glowing"
:O
"But it's what I expected"
:D
That's what I'd expect, too. As Flip Wilson said, "Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed". 😁
@Chaplain Dave Sparks Dewey: "I expect nothing, and I'm still let down." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ftdu8yrKOw
😂
An emotional rollercoaster
Totally relatable
Ah yes, the Paint Can Forge Thing; my favourite science thing!
I want one of your merch shirts to say "to do this" with some really complicated reaction diagram afterwards
I really enjoy watching purifications / repurifications. It always seems like chemistry magic
We love you NileRed!! Thank you for all your time and effort.

"My mom threw away my glowing dinosaur, so I became a chemist and made my own" is a better villain origin story than 90% of the ones out there
fubby chatso - 2021-05-14
You use quotation marks if you are quoting something word for word. You are not so don’t use them.
