And for everyone who is still curious: There is always the chance that you'll end up terminally ill or very injured someday in the hospital and they'll give you all the opioids you'd ever want anyway. The chances of getting this last high anyway aren't that bad. So no need to rush things.
Well I’ve had surgery 3 times and those three times I had the best sleep with the FET PAK.. but I don’t remember anything, I get my high from taking pictures and people complimenting me on them.

That was the most powerful, honest and comprehensive argument I've ever heard on why hard drugs are a bad idea.
Growing up we just hear 'is bad, forbidden', which to the right age group, could just as well have been said as a dare.
But knowing you will have a lifetime peak feelgood experience, that can never be had again, and to which you will now measure everything else in your life... Honestly that sounded absolutely terrifying.

Being 32 and only ever experimented with weed, alcohol and tobacco it just clicked on me that no way in hell would i have the willpower to overcome that. Glad i didnt ever get to experience it and i sure as hell wont be trying it now.

I’m addicted to Fentanyl now. Have been for years. These kinds of videos are hard to watch. When it comes down to it, some days it easier to pretend everything is normal even when it isn’t. Looking in the mirror is hard. I’ve tried to get clean so many times. But for anyone who wasn’t already aware/convinced, Opioid withdrawal (especially fentanyl) is the most hellish thing I have ever experienced. It’ll sap every moral, strength, emotion, and piece of who you are out of you. Where you’ll do anything to get well. I’ve never had a worse physical sensation in my life. My muscles feeling like they’re tying knots around my bones until they’re about crack, nausea so bad that you keep dry heaving even when you have nothing left, drenched in more sweat than you’d even think possible. Both ends burning like acid, and so low and suicidal you’d do anything to make it stop. I want everyone to know, stopping isn’t easy. Not even close. It’s the hardest thing most people will have to do in their lives. And I am so so proud of anyone and all of you who have made it out the other side. You give me strength, and hope that someday it’ll be different.

Oh my god, I just saw all of this. I had my notifications turned off because of harassment on an H3 video (long story). Thank you all so much for your kind words. I’ve recently been in talks with a sober living home and rehab facility. I’ve been feeling really alone lately and it means the world to me. Life the way I’ve living it has come with a lot of stigma and shame. It’s hard to talk to others about all of this. This has made me feel so much hope and lot less scared. I’ll keep all of you in mind when things get hard and I feel alone. I’m done letting it rob my life from any more. ❤️

Hey, another update I'm gonna provide as a comment and as an update. It's been a really tough 10 months. Things didn't work out exactly as planned, but I'm still keeping it with it. Zylazine came to my area and it's been a nightmare. I literally go into treatment today. I've been using all of your words as motivation when things got really bad and I'll especially be using them over the next couple weeks. Thank you all of you. I have never had this many people ever talk to, read, or care about anything I've said. Not even remotely. You all have made a man feel so much less alone and in the hardest time in my life. Thank you for that. ❤️

How does it feel to get OD'd .
I was dropped off at the ER and woke up having no idea where I was and no recognition of the day before. I was informed I OD’d and was given narcan multiple times. I’m honestly lucky to be alive, recovery was far from easy and a year after my OD I was charged with possession. I was already clean for a year on my own terms so I tried to not let it get me down but it was very difficult. In all honesty recovery was very difficult but I stuck to it and now it’s been 14 years almost 15. I was an addict during the times of 80’s, before the perc 30’s, then came the pharmaceutical fentanyl followed by the bs that’s in everything today. When I OD’d I thought I was taking heroin but it was something laced with fentanyl, I’m lucky to have survived and have been able to completely change my life around.
Ngl this is really the most effective anti-drug message than the same anti-drug messages from decades ago.
Yeah, there's a huge difference between hearing a generic "drugs are bad, kids" and specifically describing how completely heroin will fuck up your brain, and how even heroin is a preferable alternative to fentanyl.

Been clean from heroin for 8 years now . Work as a peer recovery coach in my local emergency room where I had od’d at plenty of times. Recovery is possible

Back in college I drank and partied a lot. I was offered meth twice, and once someone casually handed me a loaded crack pipe. Thankfully I was self aware enough each time to say "No thanks. I'd probably like it."

I have never seen a better explanation for addiction to opioids before. This is exactly what its like. I have never touched Fentanyl but long ago I was hooked on Methadone and this is exactly how it was. I hope anyone watching this, learns from it. That high at the beginning may be nice. But its absolutely not worth what it will do to you. There is nothing worse than being a prisoner to your body and addiction. There were times when I would envy everyone, just because they were free. No matter how bad things in life got. They could just run away and like in the wilderness if they wanted. But when you are hooked, you cant. You live with a countdown clock above your head. Always counting down to when the pain will begin. Its a horrible horrible way to live. You lose everything from it and everything you loved before that made you happy, no longer matters. Its a living nightmare. DON'T TAKE OPIOIDS. PLEASE DON'T ( I appreciate the likes. If my little comment can help even one person stay away from this stuff then it will be worth it. I dont want anyone else losing everything over these horrible drugs. So thank for helping my comment be seen)

Was on Methadone for 13 years cause chronic pancreatitus and it's really good pain medicine that has a long half time. Got better after surgery but because of Methadone I could work full time and live a normal life. Only downside for me was that it lowered my testosterone which I got injections for so for me Methadone worked really well.
Just saying that opioids are bad are not the right path. Problem chronic pain patients have now is that doctors are too afraid to perscribe stuff like methadone because it can/will get you addicted. I rather be addicted to pain meds than be in constant agony and slowly wean you off it when/if you can.
I have MS and Trigeminal Neuralgia and need opioids for pain management. For me, I always stick to the lowest dosage and ONLY take the meds when desperately needed. That leaves me living with pain, and only addressing the bouts of debilitating pain from my disease, but I am terrified of an addiction forming.
I think opioids have a place, but people have to have better alternatives. Monthly injections of aimovig have helped me a lot for chronic pain management, but I also use five other alternatives to opioids before resorting to them. Unfortunately sometimes there’s no way around it. (FYI I know about alternatives for TN but I have allergies/adverse reactions to those drugs like my liver swelling).
As an addict myself, one important thing to stress is that you will never be the same again after the first time you've been addicted. Addiction isn't something you heal from and then it's gone. Every moment of stress and sorrow and grief in your life will come with an extreme urge to go back to the drug. This will never go away.
And this is for ANY addiction, even something common like cigarettes.
I work with a guy who quit smoking 7 years ago, and he still occasionally has thoughts like "Having a cigarette sounds REALLY fucking good right now", especially during stressful days at work.

Not true. Neural plasticity is real. You can return to homeostasis though, but it’s not easy to alchemize your brain. Override your neurons. Drugs are tied to dopamine and serotonin for a reason, but you can’t return rewire your risk/reward sensory.
The entire part after injecting heroin to "This will be your peak life moment - forever" really hits hard. It is beautifully animated, almost like a meditation and the unbiased honesty really made me comprehend on an emotional level why heroin is such a dangerous drug. Scarred for life by happiness with an experience you will never ever reach again.
I'd wager if you don't take it again as soon as you can and wait weeks for the tolerance to be back it would probably be as good.

I never took fentanyl or heroin, but I did have an opiod addiction. It's the PERFECT description. Nothing has ever felt as good as the first time I doubled up on some pain pills I'd been prescribed. Not even when I took larger amounts later, even after waiting *months*.

@alkeryn1700 The problem is that two week 'wait' is absolute hell. The entire time your body is screaming for another hit to make it stop. You won't ever get back to normal tolerance because the craving will always break you before you can reach baseline again.
I broke my ankle a few years back from slipping and falling on an icy step, and on the ambulance ride for the pain they gave me Fentanyl. And I remember saying after they gave me it and the pure bliss I felt, even after breaking all 3 bones in my ankle, "Damnnn, I get why people ruin their lives for this, this shit feels GOOOOOOD." And, like, I meant it. Its INSANE how good it feels. And it makes me empathize all the more with those who are addicted to it.

They were totally wrong. The drug and dosage should be coherent to your pain to make the pain get low or stop at maximum, but not enough to turn it into pleasure

As an ex-IV heroin and fentanyl addict for over 10 years, I completely approve of this video. It is extremely accurate, with the descriptions spot-on. The things you are willing to do, your morals that you are willing to suspend in the search of the drug is unimaginable. Anything you've ever said that you would never do, under any circumstances no longer applies. I have now been sober for a little over 10 years and still think of it daily, how I wish I could be pain free. I OD'd in 2016, my best friend saved me. A couple of months later that same friend OD'd alone and died. This addiction gave me heaven for a second and then took everything else from me. I miss my friend, so much.

Dont do it man not even weed. I started using drugs when I was 12. It started with weed and eventually moved into heroin. I have been clean from heroin for over 2 years and although I had alot of fun with drugs it's not worth it in the end. If you end up getting addicted then your whole life will revolve around whatever drug you use and living for a drug is not living. Now I only use drugs seldomly and for no longer than just a couple days at a time but not everyone can do that. Your better off just never touching the stuff the stuff at all. But if for some reason you do experiment with drugs dont use for more than just a couple days in a row.
This is the same reason why proper condom and birth control use is so important, there's no such thing as "a little bit" pregnant. Parents need to be brutally honest about such important topics instead of using vague scare tactics and religious dogma. Show kids the consequences and numbers.

He really just went "oh I'll just stop doing cocaine this month to afford groceries" and he just fucking did.

The fact that anyone can feel pure euphoria and bliss once for a few hours and then never be able to replicate that feeling ever again, is what makes hard drugs so terrifying to me. How is one supposed to live life after that one trip? When you know nothing will ever live up to that feeling?
Yes you know that nothing will ever give you pure joy and euphoria like that ever. And for the first few months everything feels worthless, but given enough time i now appreciate more than i did before i ever was addicted: having a laugh with my brother while we play super mario 64, my girlfriend looking at me with eyes filled with love, my friends having a laugh with me while we go hiking and shoot the shit. Theres always a silver lining, and you can always come back. Its true that its never too late, and i think i overall needed the experience of hell to appreciate heaven

after much time, you can start to forget that feeling back then, and it just becomes nostalgia or sommething, the dopamine baseline is usually reset and moments will start to feel good again, and more memorable.
one can also try to make somethiing that will live up to that feeling, by just exceeding at a task that seemed impossible, endlessly finding a new hobby or new place, a new sstory, and each of those give more than just a simple feeling of "feeling good" but actual accomplishment and long-term happiness.
Also, it literally reduces what good feeling you get from other experiences by frying part of your opioid receptors in the brain from the overstimulation. It’s grim, it literally sabotages future good experiences.

Even without all the physical harms, just on a pure philosophical level the mere idea of "The next few minutes will be the happiest you'll ever be in your entire life" is enough persuasion for me to stay far far away from it.
My professor in college would have terrified you with his comments then xD. He had many stories but one that particularly stuck with me was when he said that the first time he held his newborn daughter felt almost as good as his first high. He was an ex heroin addict and he had terrifying tidbits like that in our pharmacology courses.

I like how these videos never demonize users. I lost my uncle to drug use but I'll always remember him as the kind selfless person who helped raise me. He wasn't some selfish bum only looking out for himself and chasing pleasure, he just wanted to release himself from the pain he had endured his entire life and got caught in the trap.
That’s a very mature and honest way to look at it Im impressed by your compassion and understanding. It’s a shame how the stigma instantly gets thrown on people who then become shunned/outcasted by society all because they are in pain whether physically or mentally leading to the search for some relief. Plenty of “junkies” are people with the biggest hearts who feel very deeply not just for their loved ones but for everyone who suffers and for this world as a whole which contributes to them seeking ways to reduce the immense feelings of despair they carry with them constantly. Of course there’s no denying that a vast amount of addicts are selfish criminals who lie and take advantage but let us not forget the people who maintain their morals and integrity while simultaneously dealing with the monster that is addiction. @SuperTzar69 All I know is that one of my client's daughter had knee surgery which is highly painful; they gave her fentanyl and sent her home with patches. She has spent her life just barely making it with her father's help, but she has not sought out illegal drugs, amazingly, but life is bleak to her. All because she trusted medical care; she didn't make the choice, she was prescribed. My own primary care doctor made a big announcement some years ago that she would no longer prescribe any opioids of any kind or in any amount. If you want some, go find it from another doctor or on the street. She want no part of this hell.
I decided to do the extreme opposite, I never seek joy so I never seek drugs. It's hardwired into my brain now to reject more then to accept.

Being honest and saying "Yeah it is the best thing you will ever feel...but only once and then its hell" And explaining how it works on a biological level , is far better than some dude coming into my high school class room and essentially just saying "Drug bad" for a hour

I always wonder about this, especially as in my experience the people that judge usually call themselves "Christians". Did none of them ever read the Bible? It is full of Jesus teaching us to forgive and be gentle towards others...

The Puritans that founded the first (and most influential) Colonies had absolutely odious beliefs that have been handed down to today--poverty and addiction are moral failings that need to be punished, judge your neighbour harshly, and so forth.
Addiction is absolutely a moral failing. By now the consequences of drug use are well documented. When you choose to take a drug you know what the chances of addiction are. Unless you think you’re special and it won’t be like that for you. I understand people wanting to escape sometimes but escaping the frying pan for the fryer ain’t it.
If addiction were purely mental, people wouldn't be fat, or grumpy without coffee, or spending money on nicotine while claiming they'll "stop next Monday". Addiction is mental, emotional, physical and personal.

This was very difficult to watch. My sister died from a heroin over dose. It started with a knee surgery. She was prescribed Vicodin. Had another knee surgery. More Vicodin. A knee replacement. More Vicodin. Eventually she couldn’t get the Vicodin. Insurance wouldn’t cover the expense and no more surgeries. She turned to heroin. One day my niece found my sister dead from an OD. I’ll never forget that day.. no one should have to see their mother dead from an OD. My sister was my idol when I was a child. I grew up looking up to her more than any one. Not a day goes by I don’t think of her.

This just shows how fucked up the American medical system is. It’s stupid how doctors would just prescribe addictive drugs to patient with no out patient cares like they are giving out candies. And it’s even worse that the insurance is rigged for profit instead of life. And when someone finally had enough and decided to try to fight the system they charge him with death penalty.

@BraydenCannon it is not the same thing. Drugs are usually not that appealing to people that are already in a content life. Or even if they do occasionally take drugs for recreational use they don’t get addicted fast. But if you already have a lot of emotional pain and suffering, drugs are much more appealing and addictive. This is true for legal drugs like alcohol as well. Lots of people have fun drinking Friday nights with their friends and while this isn’t good from a medical standpoint, they don’t have any social issues and the alcohol hasn’t a devastating effect on them on the contrary it makes their life a bit more fun. There are even a lot of regular drinkers that have medical issues because of their drinking but that are functioning alcoholics in the sense that their life is not a mess. Not every alcoholic is violent, self loathing and mean. But then many people start drinking regularly to forget and stop hurt and this is when drinking becomes a real issue.
I'm saying the opposite of feeling bad is feeling good

I have 2 years sober and was a heroin and fentanyl addict for 5 years. This easily the best description I’ve come across. Devastatingly accurate.
If it was the last 5 years chances are very high it was not heroin. It just doesnt exist in the usa anymore, maybe rarely texas or something. The 2 highs are very different, its been over 10 years since heroin was a thing. Now you dont even get fent, the fent is cut with other dirty stuff turning people into weird zombies. Congrats on your sobriety tho, its the best thing a person can do. The fent/mystery drug epidemic made getting sober myself very easy cause its so awful in comparison to what use to be around.

About 500 days clean from fentanyl, and I was using for three years. I had no hope of getting better, and it was genuinely the sickest physically and mentally that I’ve ever been. I lost a very close friend, and it made me spiral more. Eventually, I decided that I would try to quit again but I would try my absolute hardest and put all of my energy into it. If that attempt wouldn’t have stuck, I would either be still using or dead. Quitting was the scariest but also the best decision I’ve ever made. I can finally say that have no intention of going back. Thank you for making a video about this. Please, test your drugs and carry narcan (even if you don’t use, you’ll never know if you’re going to need to use it on someone else)!!!!

I can't imagine how insane addiction is. I'm prescribed an opioid for chronic insomnia. Not having my other meds for a day or two can make life suck but not having my opioid to sleep? Misery. And this is medical use levels.
this is the best anti drug video i've ever seen, i would have probably never tried something like heroin anyway, but there was still a tiny door of curiousity open in my mind. after seeing this the door is shut.

There is a difference between phychological addiction and chemical addiction.

I was addicted to opiates for almost a decade after a car accident and back surgery ended up getting me stuck on pain meds. That progressed to snorting heroin, but I stopped on 1/30/2016 and I've been clean since. I lost 3 friends from that life in June of 2016. They all OD'd from hot bags of heroin. That's when it started to get bad with Fentanyl in my area. I got clean a few months before it could've been me. Clean living is far better.

It's alarming how the US system, with aggressive pharma marketing and a push to overprescribe, almost seems designed to funnel people towards opioid dependence. The focus wasn't always on patient well-being but on profit and a flawed 'zero pain' ideology. Here in Brazil's stricter regulations and different cultural approach to pain management have, so far, prevented a similar large-scale crisis.

My kids enjoy your videos. Suddenly my pre-teen is telling me about Heroin and Fentanyl. I'm like "oh, I didn't know some of that...did you just find out about this from someone?"
She goes "no, it's a video, one of those ones we like" and thought "oh dear, this is some joke thing that she thinks is cool" but then saw it was you guys and went "shoot yeah I'll watch this with you" and both kids watched to the end very fascinated. A little scared, but knowledge is power.
I hope they get the second part about pain and accepted it more than the "heaven". Because the description of pleasure was so vivid that for a moment I thought: "Oh I want to experience this feeling"
It was certainly a very strange video to see on my feed, caught me off guard too. However it has the usual good messages about staying away from drugs so not bad in the end. I would however specifically make sure Im watching this one with my kids so I can emphasize the negatives
