Hey Peter, not sure if you’ll even find this comment but I had to let you know. I’m a full-time caregiver for my grandpa who has Alzheimer’s and he’s in the later stage of it so every day is hit or miss, but surprisingly one thing that always cheers them up and put them in a good mood is your videos. We sit down and watch him, and he often starts bursting into stories and it makes me very happy to see him enjoy just reminiscing. Thank you for all you do. I apologize if this message is confusing, I was voice to text.
Many happy returns grandpa, what a gift reality is to jar the old jellies. Warm regards cuz. Onward.

Peter doesn't read your messages anymore. When he had fewer subscribers, he would respond, but now that he has millions and is earning money, he doesn't care to reply.
A Celt living in his ancestral homeland much in the way that his ancestors did. Something special about that.

My thoughts exactly 👍
I know; ya never know where he’ll go next. He’s the best.
The world needs a ton of this young man.
The world is about to get a ton.
The world has a ton, dysfunctional, irresponsible check d pit of life individuals under 40 from America to China and everywhere inbetween. The youth is seriously lost in one fashion or another.
The world needs more environments like the one he lives in. This world really has become poisoned.
He has 6 acres of land to grow food and survive one. There is about 8 billion people on the planet and 12.5 billion acres of "agricultural-able" land.. so only 36 billion acres of useable land short.
@@oogaboogaman2744 First off its daddy’s land. Secondly we’ve just eclipsed 7 billion and nowhere near 8 billion people. The rest of your drivel is just as bizarre.
When asked if he feels more English or French, he says, "I feel rural."
And that's the real divide in this world, those who prefer rural/country living and those who prefer living in cities. One that needs constant growth and consumption and the other seeking equilibrium.
the vast majority of people in the countryside in the USA are not seeking equilibrium.
I, too, was impressed by that statement. It made me feel a kinship with someone on the other side of the world.
@@jakew1362 I don't know the sentiment of the "vast majority" of rural Americans, but the imbalance caused by consumerism is pretty apparent.
I think it's the natural state of the vast majority of all people to seek the kind of equilibrium that a slow, purposeful life brings. That life's being made increasingly more impossible by the trappings and demands of consumer culture.
And I think people are feeling a growing sense of confined frustration and meaninglessness due to it. And I think those closest to their rural roots feel it the most.
Country means nothing really. We're all the same, it's just people with power who want control that ruin this world. If everyone tried to build communities and live in harmony with the world, it'd be a much more beautiful planet
That's exactly what I said to my husband yesterday as we were watching this video. Encountering people from different nations & religions, seeing how they slander each other based on those divisions, I realize that the biggest separations are rural vs. urban. While we may have different beliefs & politics, essentially the mindset & values of rural people are more similar to each other.
The idea of everyone ending up with one culture, essentially based on consumerism, is really quite sad when you stop to think about all the variation we are losing. Fascinating video, thank you Peter.
Noooo!!!! You must define yourself by you own!
But it doesn't have to be that way
Gareth's comment struck home with me. Between everyone wanting American products and that lifestyle and the internet, CuIture is getting homonogized.
I used to go to Europe a lot in the 70's and you could see each country's distincitve culture on display. Nowadays, you walk down their main streets (say Grafton Street in Dublin) and you see the same stores you see in the US.
The internet has made everything accessible so Bond Street in London doesn't offer the exclusivity it once did since anyone with the $$ can hop on the internet and purchase what ever is being offered there. So much culture is being gobbled up. It is sad.
Yep if the west keeps this up ,it's communism.
Human cultures have been merging and splitting for thousands of years. If they all do merge into one at some point in the future they will inevitably split into countless more.
43:25 "Most cultures are being leveled into one culture."
amazing how smart some of these people are compared to normies.
And one World
Listening to these people is a real education..... one of my favourite episodes so far, thanks Peter.
Greetings from Japan -
This video is truly a remarkable and inspiring profile of Samuel and his family’s self-sufficient homestead in Brittany, France. Samuel, his sister, and his father are deeply thoughtful, articulate minds living an extraordinary dream. Their self-sufficient way of life is nothing short of admirable.
Samuel’s intellect and practical wisdom shine through in every aspect of his existence—from growing all their own food to managing the daily needs of their farm with an innate connection to the land. Raised and homeschooled in a rural environment, he’s cultivated a profound understanding of the world, paired with a quiet devotion to caring for his father and sister. The simplicity of their life belies the depth of knowledge and precision with which Samuel runs the farm, embodying a harmony with nature that is rare and deeply fulfilling.
I connected so deeply with Samuel's sentiment about preferring to stay at home on the farm. I too find peace and fulfillment in the self-sustained life we’ve built, where everything we need is right here at home. His methods remind me of the traditional farming practices here in Japan, where small farmers use no fertilizers or pesticides, employ ducks to control pests, weed by hand, and grow heirloom crops—farming practices as natural and pure as Samuel’s.
This is one of the best videos I’ve watched on YouTube, or anywhere else for that matter. Thank you for sharing such a profound and beautiful glimpse into this life.
Sincerely,
Bear

He knows that this won’t come to fruition in his time.. but he also knows that he can make a difference. "Culture stems from the land and from the people farming it".
This is a powerful sentence. If people lose connection to the land, culture becomes an amusement for pastime, and soon you will feel like going to disneyland.
What I love the most about this video, is how close his lifestyle is to Tituts and yet hies views vary greatly. The modern world tends to tell us that you need formal education and to travel the world to come up with ideas, while these people teach us that giving your brain time to work and the right nutrition, it will form incredible thoughts. This is the true diversity that all these soulless corporations boast about.
Definitely, I love Peter’s videos and certainly identify much more with Samuel than Titus despite the similarities of lifestyle. But then I’m a product of a culture much closer to Samuel than Titus - the religiosity of the US can be quite alien.
I bet Samuel is more contented than many people with great monetary wealth. His life is his land and he speaks more honesty than the politicians of most countries. I have a pair of cloggs from Lancashire and they are very comfortable.
Politicians ( Puppets ) are trained to lie & maintain the Status Quo they ware payed for . Wake up .... thats how it is for decades .
I ordered my books from him the day this video came out. I know he was very overwhelmed by the support from this video. ❤❤ I got my books today and love them! It was pretty exciting seeing that package with stamps from France on there 🥰
A follow up to this video in a year or so would be amazing!
This guy is so genuine and true to himself. The fact that he is content to live his life on his terms is impressive.
I loved his quote abiut wanting people to come to him and that he wanted to be proven wrong abouy being the only one farming that way. He lives a simple life but is not insular and wants to share his skills. What a great dude.
What a fascinating individual, seems like a good soul. Salt of the earth. Great video Peter.
Hi I'm so glad you came across Samuel- he's getting quite a bit of coverage over here and is a great character! Nice to see Brittany (where I've lived for over 30 years) on your channel. Merci/Trugarez!
yes it is cool .
I like this chap, and as much as he probably doesn't realise it, he embodies a lot of what it is to be a Yorkshireman. Blunt, to the point, slightly unyielding on opinions, doesn't like parting with money....wears a Flat cap.
As a Yorkshireman myself, of almost equal age, I get exactly what he means and why he's out there doing things as he sees right.
He also, hasn't entirely lost the North Yorkshire accent, either....which again, as someone from the same area, I have touches of despite moving around a lot as a youngster.
cool i live not so far from this man. This Yorkshireman said he is celt. He really fits in Brittany because many people feel "breton" ( celts).
My dad was a Yorkshire man, even though after marrying my mum, he lived in Lancashire for 60 years. Yorkshire folk are one of a kind; blunt, shrewd yet generous, friendly, down to earth, hard working and stoic. Just lovely people and coming from a Lancashire lass, that's high praise indeed😂
@@annecaunce
I dont know Lancashire but it sounds good !
Generally speaking english people here are very polite and nice . They like to renovate old house nobody wants in Brittany. They are hard working people !
I was born and raised in Yorkshire, from Yorkshire parents, and almost all my family still live in that same village - I moved to Lancashire for university in 1995 (first in my family) and never went home.
We tend to tell it like it is, fairly independent, would help anyone and still have a Yorkshire accent!
