@Odenetheus Bellander In past tense or third person yes. As the full and correct sentence would be 'For whom has awoken the ancient one.' or 'Whom has awoken the ancient one.' said in third person which would also leave room for satire (which would be good for comedic value).
In my opinion, the sentence holds much more depth to imagine it being said whilst arising from a slumber. Giving no headway for an awkward pause before dialogue.
But i would not of thought of satire, if you hadn't pointed that out. So i thank you for adding another perspective.

I am a doctor and I work with patients with autoimmune disease and thinking about the complement system is a big part of the job.
