This shows how to make benzene via a slightly different route than the usual sodium benzoate + lye method. My Patreon: https://www.Patreon.com/ChaosChem
Benzene is useful. Will be nitrated? :) Nice video!
O yes. Lol. I have no immediate plans for it, but I’m sure I’ll dinitrate it.😉
Im so glad i found this channel :) liked you the first word on and also love your pfp and name :)
I'm glad u did as well then! 😎🤣 Glad u enjoy it.🥰
This also seems to come over much cleaner than the NaOH route. When I do it that way it comes over far more strongly colored.
@Chemistry'sCuriosities Cannagorilla damn. That sucks man. I would try to so it again if I were you. It's just so useful.
@Chemistry'sCuriosities Cannagorilla , shoot me an email. I have a proposition for you. 😉

@Chemistry'sCuriosities Cannagorilla O, I wasn't aware of that one. I shall find it & sub. It's just gr8 to have it on hand. Never know when it'll become necessary.
@BackYard Science 2000 Uh, oh.. Bulk something....lol
I agree. When I've used lye and benzoate b4, my still head is usually orange when I'm done.lol
the benzene produced in this way has to be distilled again in order to purify it, so no thermometer is really necessary the first time
If u noticed I used a closed still head. There's no need to even regulate temp in 2nd distillation really tho either, & I used the same 105° closed still head to do so. Anything not benzene just turns to carbon and stays in rxn pot. Easily removed usually w/acetone, but this last run I boiled dry (on accident) & needed to break out the KOH to clean the residue.
@PbN3 2 but that's exactly what I said and what I meant, no need to measure the temp
Ur 100% right
Noice job brother
Y, tyvm!
Could you synthesize me a chemical how could I contact you?
Depending what it is I'm sure I can. DM me on Discord. Name is same as on here
i like your lamp
Lol. Thx. It produces light so worx for a makeshift lab.😉

Nice, simple, and well explained vid. Good job! Also do you plan on doing anything special with the benzene?

Atm, not really. I actually shot this mostly for BackyardScience2000, simply cuz he'd never seen it done this way b4. I have a feeling I'll make some DNB, with it. But I just like to have it on hand too.

@PbN3 2 , it's a great video! Thanks for sharing it. I have indeed never seen it done this way. I also like to have it on hand. It's extremely useful.

@BackYard Science 2000 Totally!
