Australia also has an issue with feral hogs as well. I've always wanted to visit Australia. All my life I've been fascinated with reptiles. Especially snakes and lizards. So that's where my interest in Australia originated. If I was given an opportunity to move to Australia and work as a full time invasive species eliminator, I would be there in a heartbeat.

People who fanatically object to this have never had to deal with this kind of thing. Where I live deer and coyotes devastate things if not controlled. If legal hunting was not allowed many farmers and ranchers would not be able to feed their cattle in the winters because of the deer eating up their hay stocks. Im not talking about a couple deer. we have seen herds of hundreds of deer coming right into a guys farm and eating not only hay but also fruit trees and totally wiping out gardens of perennials , and any other young growing trees, etc.. This is with legal hunting. Imagine if hunting wasnt allowed. Coyotes kill, small dogs and even sheep if the population isnt controlled. They will come right into your yard and get your pets at times. If the population isnt controlled with legal hunting the deer will starve in the winter because not enough natural food for the population. Many people dont understand this. Dying slowly is much crueler than curbing the population so those alive aren't suffering.

I mean I live in good suburban area where I let my cat wander the neighborhood and he always knew to come back in a hour or so. granted he was interested in going outside depends on the cats personality. I don't include animal cruelty as in physicality or mentally abuse cause obviously that is not a suitable enviroment. but the people who abandoned animals that's just wrong. also they are literally smaller versions of lions and tigers where it's just instinct. dogs are differe t cause they been domesticated linger than cats I believe

He's not sure the laws, but he's sitting on a lot of acres with no neighbors for at least a half mile, any cat that comes on the property gets shot. That or they get caught and drowned in a water basin.

The Australia outback has other predators that keep field mice and other rodents in check. Feral cats kill BOTH the field rodents and birds of prey or snakes that hunt rodents. Leaving feral cats uncontrolled will end in complete indigenous wildlife eco system collapse.
Feral cats also kill millions of domesticated cats every year.
