P-500
The P-500 (Russian designator: «Кливер», engl.: cleaver, NATO-designator “Big Net”) is an operating in L-Band naval 2D- air and surface surveillance radar. The maximum range against air targets was 270 to 300 km, against surface targets up to the horizon (35 - 40 km).
This radar was introduced into the former USSR military fleet around 1965. It was used as a target allocation radar and was part of the anti-ship missile complex P-500 «Basalt» (NATO-Code: SS-N-12 “Sandbox”).
