AN/TPX-46(V) IFF interrogator
Manufacturer:
Hazeltine Corporation
(a subsidiary of GEC-Marconi Electronic Systems Corporation), Greenlawn, New York
The Hazeltine interrogator sets AN/TPX-46(V)1 to (V)6 are compatible with a wide range of missile systems including the Improved HAWK. Interface capabilities for other radar systems are incorporated. The AN/TPX-46(V)7 equipment (which is used in the Patriot missile system) is different from other versions in that the interrogator is computer-directed for single target evaluation and utilises an IFF antenna that is integrated into the main radar antenna. This IFF antenna is not supplied by Hazeltine. Components and modules from the AN/TPX-46(V)1 to (V)6 receiver/transmitter and processor are used extensively in the AN/TPX-46(V)7.
