The mobile S-Band 3D airspace radar 80K6M of the Ukrainian company “Iskra” (Zaporozhye) was developed with the good experiences in the construction of the ST-68U. It uses a phase-modulated intrapulse modulation for good range resolution at relatively low pulse power. The complete radar and a container with operator workplaces are mounted on an 8x8 off-road truck. It is extremely fast deployable and does not require any technical preparation for installation on a new site.
The performance of the 80K6M is equivalent to that of the Northrop Grumman AN/TPS-78 or the Thales GM-400. However, the 80K6M is far superior to these radar sets in terms of mobility and also the much cheaper price.
