AN/TPN-31
The AN/TPN-31 or ATNAVICS (Air Traffic Navigation, Integration and Coordination System) is a mobile ground-controlled approach system that provides air traffic services where no operational airport control and landing system exists. It consists of an Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) and Precision Approach Radar (PAR). The system is fully autonomous, ICAO/NAS compliant, and transportable in a single C-130 aircraft. The operations vehicle provides two operator positions. It can be up to 3,200 feet away from the radar using the fiber-optics cable.
