AN/TPS-65
The AN/TPS-65 is an L-Band military air traffic control radar. It uses dual diversity within 51 different frequencies with manual or automatic selection. It is similar in characteristics to the earlier AN/TPS-63. The system is compatible with various subsystems designed for commercial air traffic control purposes.
The Moving Target Indicator (MTI) operates on a variable four-pulse transmission to eliminate ground clutter while maximizing moving aircraft detection. A dual receiver channel allows the display of weather conditions. The system also features constant false-alarm rate, a special rain-reject circuit and built-in test equipment.
