ELM-2228S AMDR
The ELM-2228S AMDR (Automatic Missile Detection Radar) is an operating in S-Band multimode air/surface search radar. The EL/M-2228S is available in 2D and 3D configurations. The radar is designed to detect sea-skimming missiles, generate automatic threat alerts and provide an automatic, track-while-scan (more than 100 targets simultaneously) air and surface surveillance capability. It can also be configured to incorporate a dual S- and X-Band feed to create a dual-function surveillance/gunnery and AMDR radar.
EL/M-2228S can be fitted with an L-Band identification friend-or-foe subsystem if required and can be supplied in any one of three system configurations:
- 2D-AMDR: Utilises a single equipment rack and a lightweight reflector antenna to provide low/medium elevation coverage;
- 2-D-High power AMDR: utilises two equipment racks and a lightweight reflector antenna to provide long-range low/medium elevation coverage
- 3-D-High power AMDR: Provides 70º elevation coverage and height measurement via an integrated antenna system which incorporates the described reflector and a second back-to-back array.
