Type 86

The AMES Type 86 is an operating in X-Band continuous wave target illumination radar providing the guidance signal for semi-active missiles. The radar was used in conjunction with the mobile Bloodhound Mk.Ⅱ and Thunderbird Mk.Ⅱ systems. Indigo Corkscrew was the development name of the Type 86 radar and was later renamed Firelight on export versions.
