ELM-2270 OTH
The ELM-2270 OTH is an Over–The–Horizon Surface Wave (OTH SW) radar operating in HF-Band. It is used as long-range coastal surveillance radar, designed to detect sea surface targets and low flying aircraft, far beyond the local horizon.
The radar uses separate transmit and receive antennas. The transmitting antenna covers the entire sector of 120° simultaneously. The receiving antennas form a phased array with digital swiveling of a virtual antenna diagram. The number of individual radiators and radiator groups can vary, so no fixed beamwidth of the antenna diagram can be given. Digital beam forming allows simultaneous monitoring of the entire sector, which allows very good pulse integration and noise suppression.
