Scanter 1002

Scanter 1002 is a KU-Band Ground Surveillance Radar for security optimization and protection of critical infrastructure and installations such as airports, power plants, borders, camps and harbors. It provides complete meter-by-meter coverage both outside and inside a physical perimeter for detection and tracking of slow (man or animal) and fast-moving objects (landing aircraft) at the same time. The radar is also capable of detecting small, non-cooperative boat traffic that might go undetected by other sensors. The system is also capable of detecting targets on the water surface, making it ideal for detecting water borne threats transitioning to land.

The continuous rotation provides a coveraged area of 452 km². The radome of the Scanter 1002 has a diameter of 500 mm and a height of 850 mm. Scanter 1002 uses pulse compression techniques to minimize the resolution cell. The radars “blind range” is about 20 m. The digital plot extractor can maintain up to 100 tracks.

The approved detection range of different objects is e.g.:
