TRS 2100 “Tiger S”

The TRS 2100 “Tiger S” is an operating in S-Band low altitude tactical surveillance radar. The radar is fully solid-state with the exception of the two power amplifier tubes in the transmitter. It is a fully coherent radar using intrapulse modulation. The output power is provided by three successive amplifier stages (one transistor stage, one traveling wave tube stage and one cross field amplifier stage). The shaped for a Cosecant-squared antenna pattern, double curved parabolic reflector size is 4.7 × 2.3 m. The IFF subsystem is integrated with the primary radar antenna.

The TRS 2105 “Tiger G” is the same radar using G-Band having a maximum range of 70 km. Both versions have been widely exported and were built under license in several countries (e.g. in Irak under the designation SDA-G), China has also acquired some “Tiger” radars and is believed to have included much of their technology in the JY-8 and JY-9 radars.

TRS 2100 was developed in the late 70's, and has remained in air defense surveillance until the late 1990's. A special version is produced for the French Air Force, designated Aladin.
